Kai has a very strong and independent nature. He


needs a lot of positive praise and challenges to
follow simple routines throughout the day. Kai
struggles to socialise away from his 3 familiar
friends. He is comfortable in smaller group
situations.
Taylor adapts well amongst his different
friendships however he sometimes has trouble
imitating unhappy behaviour. Once redirected,
Taylor manages himself to make better choices.
Ben occasionally needs assistance to separate
from mum/dad in the mornings. Ben likes to be
active with his familiar peers and occasionally
needs support to manage his frustrations.
Parents have decided to keep Eden back from
going to school to allow more time to mature.
Eden often needs a special job to help her
separate from her mum in the morning. She will
often take the leadership role in play.
Lucy has a wealth of knowledge and loves to
share interesting facts with her peers. She loves
to bring in interesting show and tell and have
meaningful discussions. Lucy is a very kind and
loving friend to her peers.
Parents have decided to keep Spencer back from

Literacy
Nikita explores many early literacy
concepts in her play on a frequent basis

Kai needs to be encouraged to carefully
think about what he is saying otherwise he
tends to repeat the beginning numerous
times. He shows an interest in texts related
to his family background, South Africa.
Taylor has difficulty pronouncing some
sounds. He is currently seeing a speech
pathologist to help him before school
begins.
Ben shows an interest in and ways to talk
about sounds, letters, words, sentences
and texts in contexts relevant to his name.
Eden has the ability to make connections
between meanings in texts and personal
experiences. She shows an interest in
drawing, early writing, and dictating ideas.
Lucy explores ways to use print and texts in
play and real-life situations, e.g. to create a
menu for pretend play or a booklet about
their family.
Spencer has only recently started showing
an interest in early reading and writing. He

Thai orphanage so struggles to communicate

Mihali has a really gentle personality and this is


evident in his relationships. He prefers to have a
few quality friendships and is loyal to those
peers. He is a great role model for other students.

Kindergarten but by the end of the week she is


very confident. Elke loves to engage in dramatic

Matthew prefers quality over quantity when it

Alice has a quietly confident personality who

teachers in order for her to feel safe at Kindy.

build but now he is very happy and bubbly
