READING WORKSHEET - Places to Hang out
Text A Larry, 13

Text B

I love meeting my friends in Piccadilly Circus. I

find it a really cool place. There you can find
restaurants,
bookshops,
theatres,
cinemas,
entertainment centres, etc.
On Saturday afternoons I usually meet my
friends there. Sometimes
We decide to have lunch at MacDonalds and we
often end up playing games at an entertainment
centre. Most of the time we sit on the steps near the
Statue of Eros and just talk and laugh.
Occasionally, on someones birthday, for
example, we hang out till later: we have dinner and
go to the cinema.
We always have a lot of fun.

I spend all my free

time skating - skating
takes lots of practice
and I want to do my
best. I go to a skating
park every day after
school and I meet my
friends there. My best
friends are all skaters
too. Together we help
each other to do tricks.
Sometimes we hang
out in my room and
we watch some videos
about skating and
famous skaters. Its so
cool watching them in
action! We discuss
their tricks and hope
one day to be as good
as them.
We also talk about our
favourite pro skaters.
Mine is Eric Koston
because I think he is a
very skilful fearless
skater.

Text C

Emma, 13

I live in Newquay, Cornwall.

The beaches there are so fabulous; the sea is so
perfect for surfing that Newquay is considered
Britains surf capital.
I am a surfer like most of my friends. So when I
want to meet them, I grab my surf board and go to
the beach. We have loads of fun together. Before
going into the water we talk, tell jokes and relax in
the open air. Then we catch some waves. Nothing
feels as free as riding a wave.
Sometimes, when the weather is really bad, I also
hang out with my friends in a shopping centre but I
dont like it very much: theres too much
confusion.
