ANSWER FOR QUESTION 1

1.
a) In section a,solid ice is heated and temperature started to increases until reach normal
freezing or melting point of zero degree celcius. The arrangement of particle change from tightly
packed to start moving. At section a-b are solid/liquid state .it is melting phase. As the
substances melts, the temperature stays the same. For water, this occurs at zero degree celcius. The
particle is randomly arranged and stars moving around each other. In section c after all solid
substances melted into liquid, the temperature starts to increase as heat is absorbed. The liquid
begin to boil, when enough heat at section dare (liquid-gas state) is absorbed by the solution that
the temperature reached boling point.the temperature will again remans constant until all liquid
has become gaseous waterliquid becomes water vapour when it enter gas phase. At section e
The temperature will continue to increase as heat is added and.The particles arrangement become
randomly arranged. The particle movement is moving quickly in all direction.

a

Elements in the same group in the periodic table have similar chemicalproperties. This is
because their atoms have the same number of electrons in the highest occupied energy
level. Group 1 elements are reactive metals called the alkali metals. Group 0 elements are
unreactive non-metals called the noble gase

b
Ionization energy

Electron affinity

- The energy required to remove

-The energy change when a neutral atom

anelectron from a neutral atom

attracts anelectron to become a negative ion

The more shielding, the further the valence shell can spread out and the bigger atoms will be.
