The MSc Air Transport Management is designed to equip you with the
skills required to pursue a successful career in various sectors of the
air transport industry, including, but not restricted, to airlines, airport
companies and authorities, civil aviation departments, air transport
consultancies and aerospace companies.

Research and Careers

Research at Cranfield University
The Centre for Air Transport Management at Cranfield
University combines a wealth of practical experience
together with extensive research and teaching experience
in one centre of excellence. We are the main European
centre for strategic and applied research and consultancy
in all aspects of the operation and management of airlines,
airports and air traffic control services.

MSc Group Project

Students are divided into groups and tasked with solving
a particular research problem. Each group submits a
report and delivers a presentation of their findings and
recommendations to a large group of faculty and industry

MSc Research Thesis Project

The individual research project is an
opportunity to study a problem in detail.

Course information
The Air Transport Management course provides student with a thorough grounding in all air transport issues as well as managerial,
interpersonal, financial and analytical skills.
Many of the lecture modules include case study project sessions and seminars may also be led by senior visitors from industry.
Air Transport Management students also receive a subscription to databases: DAG, IATA and news services Flightglobal Pro.
The course consists of three elements where students will be required to complete:
Ten modules
One group project
One individual research project.

Coming from a general engineering background, Cranfields MSc in Air Transport Management
was the perfect option for me to develop my aviation enthusiasm into a career path in an
international environment, providing me with an in-depth knowledge of the air transport
industry and its major challenges. I particularly enjoyed the multi-cultural environment
offered in Cranfield, as well as the continuous contact and support from the whole Air Transport
Department and alumni network. I believe this course has equipped me with all the necessary
skills to start a career in the air transport industry and would definitely recommend it to others.

equivalent) in any relevant discipline. For those whom English is a
second language, an IELTS score of 7.0 is required.
