How Do Organizations Motivate and Engage Employees or Members?
Many people find themselves trapped in careers and jobs that don't enable them to be free-flowing, natural, and effortless. They feel absorbed in their responsibilities. In this case, their jobs dont create great joy and delight in their life. It becomes hard to get effective results from employees who work in situation like this and the company found its self in critical difficult situation where it can meet great loses or non-effective management. Organizations in order to be motivate and engage employees or members; first of all they need to have good competent and skilled managers. A fundamental task for leaders is to motivate followers to accomplish great things and many researches have recognized that leaders can also influence performance by altering the structural features of followers jobs. Managers or leaders need to present the following qualities and technics so that they can be motivate effectively their employees in the company. a. Creative Problem Solving Skills: Describing and analyzing a problem, Identifying causes of a problem, developing creative options and choosing the best course of action, and Implementing and evaluating effective and efficiency of the decision. b. Communication Skills: Listening skills, Presentation skills, Feedback Skills, Report writing skills. c. Conflict Management Skills: Identifying sources of conflict functional and dysfunctional conflicts, Understanding personal style of conflict resolution, choosing the best strategy for dealing with a conflict, and Developing skills in promoting constructive conflicts in organization and teams. d. Negotiation Skills: Distinguishing distributive and integrative negotiations, position and principle negotiation, Identifying common mistakes in negotiation and ways to avoid them, Developing rational thinking in negotiation, and developing effective skills in negotiation that benefits all parties involved. e. Self-Awareness and Improvement: Understanding the concept of selfmanagement, Evaluate the effectiveness of self-management, Developing creative and holistic thinking, Understanding the importance of emotions in works as well in self-development,

and change. There many motivation theories that can be applicable in presenting technics to be used by companies in their way to effective results from motivated employees and members. With technics, I can say Positive imagery in posting motivational themes and messages; Team-building activities in despite mixed feelings about team-building activities in order to encourage people to work together; Trainings bring motivation where people can be taught to become more motivated by showing them how to deconstruct tasks and challenges, and how to feel less intimidated by their job roles; Enhanced communication in talking and listening to the employees; and Targets, rewards and incentives in accepting that having targets to work towards is one of the most effective ways of improving performance. How do your experiences as a motivated employee or group member compare to the theories about motivation described in the readings? I am involved with a multinational company in which I am team leader of Finance and Business analyzes division, in Economy department. I participate into many meetings with my superiors, customers or employees. Through many challenges, I have experienced that motivating a team is always easier if you fully understand that they may not necessarily be motivated by the same things as you. The most effective teams are those that feel valued and supported but also feel that they are progressing and developing through the completion of challenging tasks. If a team understands company objectives, they are much more likely to want to work harder towards their achievement. Also, most people tend to respond well to being given the opportunity to make decisions and take on additional responsibilities. Whatever motivational techniques work the best, it is always important to ensure that your team feels it is making a valuable and positive contribution.
