Google Translate is a wonderful

tool for teachers who have ELL

know a phrase or cannot get the
students attention he/ she can
simply type what they are saying
in English and translate it to any
language needed for the student.
Some features with Google
translate include multiple
languages to choose from, type
any word/ phrase to translate, the
computer will speak it for you, and
also provides common words to
translate after you type the word
or phrase. The audience for this
website would be in the classroom
setting with teacher and students.

Gedditt is a free app for teachers

and students. This app will let the
teachers know what level each
student is on and where they might
be struggling. Students give
instant feedback about their
understanding in private and in
real-time. Teachers can check for
evidence of understanding with
multiple choice or short answer
responses. Student driven:
Differentiation made easy while
students learn skills of
metacognition. Students develop
an accurate understanding of their
own learning, while you can
identify needs as they occur. This
is great for students who are more
shy and quiet, they can privately
let the teacher know where they
are having a difficult time without
the whole class knowing. Great for
student/ teacher connection, more
like a 1:1 ratio.
Screencastify is a tool that
teachers can download to record
lectures or videos for the
classroom. Screen video recording
for Chrome, Chromebooks and
Chromeboxes. Screencastify is
strong enough for universities and
safe enough for kindergarteners.
Whether you are flipping the
classroom, grading presentations,
going through demos, or
communicating with parents,
Screencastify is the clear and
trusted choice in education.

Teachers create a fun learning

game in minutes (we call these
kahoots), made from a series of
multiple choice questions. Add
videos, images and diagrams to
your questions to amplify
engagement! Kahoots are best
played in a group setting, like a
classroom. Players answer on their
own devices, while games are
displayed on a shared screen to
unite the lesson creating a
campfire moment encouraging
players to look up. Social learning
promotes discussion and
pedagogical impact whether
players are in the same room or on
the other side of the globe! After a
game, encourage players to create
and share their own kahoots to
deepen understanding, mastery
and purpose. This is a free feature
and great for group activities in the
classroom, and it gets the students
involved using their own devices.
Some features include teachers
can create the question and
answer choices for the students,
and then after the game the class
can share. This is cool when you
know another grade level teacher
is using this too and there could be
a competition on which class
scores more points before the real
assessment is given.
This is the most important site for
teachers, parents, and
administration. This site covers so
much information from the SOLs
to the requirements to be a
teacher in the state of Virginia, and
to the Board of Directors. This site
has so many features for teachers
to the curriculum broken down by
subjects and by grade level. This
also shoes all the SOLs that are
covered in a students grade level.
This is great for parents as well; to
see what their child will be learning
or where to pick up if they are
moving to the area. VDOE also
covers the school finance, statistics
and reports in the division, federal
programs, and directories, and
open job positions. This site also
provides other links for military
families, teacher direct, and for
families and students.
