Imports from
China

Jill stated Half of our

imports coming from China
are actually based out of
U.S partnerships and
subsidiaries.

As for her claim that half of

imports from China are actually
from places based in the U.S., I
was only able to find lists (none
that covered every company) but
no specific numbers or
percentages, nor could I find
unbiased, reliable quotes that
talked about companies in
China. Though, one list claimed
to be only 1% of the full list of
American companies importing
from China, so there might be
truth to what she is saying. (a list:

Military

Jill will cut military

spending by 50%

We spent over 53% of our

discretionary budget on the
military in 2015. The total
discretionary budget was 1.1
trillion(we spent 583 billion on
the military) which accounted for
less than a third of our entire
budget. But, the US spends more
on its military than the next seven
countries combined.

Spending less on the

military and using
that money to invest
in domestic affairs
could potentially be
good however, it
shouldnt be done in
a short period of
time.

She doesnt exactly state what

shell cut back on. She does say
shell close all foreign bases(2013
report says that the cost for
maintaining all of these are
around 10 billion, its the salaries
of the people stationed there that
raises the price) and close all
nuclear research and testing sites.
Spend that 500 billion on our
economy.

Weve actually been making cuts

to the military under the Obama
Administration.
Defunding the military will have
enormous social and economic
repercussions. She does not state
how she will deal with that.

However, in the future if you take
that money and invest in
education, that could open jobs in
the future if done over long period
of time.

Terrorism

"After 9/11 the US told the

Saudis to clean up their act,
stop sanctioning terror, etc.,
but as recently as 2009,
Hillary Clinton wrote in a
State Department memo that
they were still the
overwhelming funders of
international terrorism. It's
crazy to spend $6 trillion on
fighting terrorism when we
turn blind eye to the Saudis."

The total cost of antiterrorism for

the US has a fluctuating number
among various reports, so
estimates are scattered, but a
report from Brown University
stats that out total spent so far on
terrorism has been $3.6 trillion.
Even if we count the total
including the proposed spending
for the next fiscal year, that
amount rises to about $4.79
trillion, which is still more than $2
trillion shy from her claim. As for
the Saudi involvement and
funding of Islamic Extremist
groups, a report from Politico
stated that during a meet with
Zalmay Khalilzad, former US
ambassador, admitted to funding
Ideological terrorism as a tactic in
conflicts with other nearby enemies
since the 60s. However, this
admittance of guilt was in favor of
recognizing the consequences of
their support for these terror groups
and phasing out the practice in an
effort for a modern take on
policies. It is unclear if the still
deliver funds to terror groups.

story/2016/09/saudi-arabia-terroris
m-funding-214241

Not exactly true

While $4.7 trillion
spent on terror since
2001 is a substantial
amount, it isnt her
claim of $6 trillion,
and actual tax dollars
spent on the war on
terror so far is only
$3.6 Trillion, which
is only a little under
half of her estimate.
And the Saudis have
plead guilty to
funding Islamic terror
groups as a tool of
conflict, but they
have remarked the
practice as a grave
mistake that has gone
out of control, and
pledge to modernize
their policies.

Transcript of opening debates

Jill Stein debate 1

What have these regime change

wars accomplished? Theyve
cost us $5 to $6 trillion since
9/11, which comes out to about
$50,000 per American
household. Tens of thousands of
U.S. soldiers have been killed
and maimed, over a million
people killed in Iraq alone. And
what do we have for all of this?
What we have to show are failed
states, mass refugee migrations,
which are tearing apart the
Middle East and Europe, for that
matter, and worse terrorist
threats.

https://www.youtube.com/w
atch?v=Gmu2glcDqJ0

Since we, the United States, are

supplying the weapons directly
or indirectly to all parties, all
combatants on all sides, and we
are the major supplier of
weapons to the region, as well
as around the world, its clear
that we have enormous power
here to initiate this weapons
embargo and to work, in fact,
with the Russians to achieve it
also, because they, too, are
paying a price that they cannot
afford for these failed wars. In
addition, we need to put a freeze
on the bank accounts of those
countries, largely our allies, who
are continuing to fund terrorist
enterprises. Hillary Clintons

own leaked emails as secretary

of state identified the Saudis as
still the major funder, even
many years after 9/11, still the
major funder of terrorism Sunni
jihad enterprises.
Hillary Clinton has said she
would like to impose a no-fly
zone over Syria, which basically
means we are going to war with
Russia, because thats what you
do when you impose a no-fly
zone, is you shoot down people
that are in that airspace.
And instead of blaming the
Russians, we need to
acknowledge it was actually the
Russians who tried to engage us
in a nuclear disarmament
process, again, several decades
ago. We need to revive that
proposal, take them up on it and
move to nuclear
disarmamentexcuse meas
quickly as we possibly can,
because this is sitting on an
absolute catastrophe into which
we could stumble at any point,
particularly given the crazy
circular firing squad thats
taking place now around Syria,
where there are so many allies at
cross-purposes with each other
that any of us could be dragged
into a larger, full-scale, and even
nuclear, war at any moment.
In fact, the drone wars kill nine
unintended victims for every
intended target.
In our country, we have
something like 16 nuclear power
plants which are located at sea
level.
