Description of the Site (1-2 paragraphs)

Edutopia is a website where teachers can share
and exchange classroom ideas and practices
that can be quite handy.
This website includes the core concept topics
and videos that go along with these topics. It
is a great learning tool that not only teachers
can get use from, but also students. The
owners and authors of this website are the
George Lucas Educational Foundation,
Schools That Work, and teachers who share
their own work or helpful websites that will
help other teachers in their career.
The main features of this website are the topics
and videos, but the videos show real life
footage of the practiced activity or topic.
The intended audience is for teacher, or for
those who work with children on a daily bases.
This website is a great source for information
that can be used in the classroom and even
help teachers who may be struggling with
what to teach in a particular subject.
This will be useful in my future teaching
career and something that I will use. I will be
able to receive ideas that have had positive
feedback from the teachers who have practiced
these methods in their own classrooms.

http://www.educationworld.com

Education World gives teachers examples and

ways to use technology in the classroom. This
is not only teaching students about the subject,
but they are also learning how to navigate and
use technology.
The owner/author of this website is Education
World and Linda Starr.
This website references Refdesk.com,
Puzzlemaker, Brainbooster, ePals, and weblogs
for great ideas. It also goes over the
importance and usefulness of PowerPoint,
Excel, and Word. The author also touches
base on miscellaneous tools that make the
teaching life more simple.
This website is directed to educators, teachers,
administrators and anyone who would want or
need more information about useful
technology.
I can use this is in my future teaching to better
educate myself on technology, that way I can
efficiently teach my students about technology
and use it to teach them other subjects.

This website includes a massive amount of
journals in regards to Social Studies, Math,

current issues going on in the schools and

teachers and educators, but also to parents and
guardians of the students.
Glen Bull and Lynn Bell are the editors of the

Computing in Education is the website
publisher.
As a future educator, I would use this website
to keep up with the happenings in the school
systems and see what other schools are doing
and learning about and compare it to what I
am teaching at my current school.

http://www.studentguide.org

The Student Guide website is a massive

collection of resources that are extremely
resourceful to students. Even though it is
mostly for student, I believe educators can
receive a ton of information from this.
The articles and websites that are offered
through Study Guide help improve study
habits, organizational skills, analytical skills,
and writing skills. This website lists resources
that are essential for integrating technology
into the classroom. There are websites the
range from activities you can do using
technology to sources that offer free
technology.
This website not only has articles and
websites, but it has podcasts that students and
teachers can listen to. I think that is an
awesome tool to have, especially with the
business of life and the century that we are
currently living in.
As a teacher, this will be a great resource to
refer my students too, especially to those who
are struggling with a particular subject or need
some great studying techniques.

Learn NC is a UNC-Chapel Hill School of

Education based website. This is where the
school is evaluating the role of technological
education and using online textbooks and
information instead of paper and actual
textbooks.
This website has information about North
Carolinas school systems, blogs, articles,
history, projects, and organization. There are
several articles that explain the importance of
technology and how it is becoming more and
more integrated in to the classrooms. This is a
website that is used by parents, teachers,
educators, students, basically anyone who
lives in the state of North Carolina.
This website was made by the educators and
official staff of UNC-Chapel Hill.
As a future educator, I will use this to keep up
with the North Carolina standards. I currently
live in North Carolina, so the possibility for
me teaching in the state is very likely. My
aunt is also a professor at UNC-Chapel Hill
therefore, this website greatly sparks my
interest.

http://www.capella.edu

Capella University website is blog based

written by the University that discusses the
importance of using technology in the
classroom and a few resources to get educators
started.
Technology encourages individual learning
and growth and also creates active learners in
the classroom. This is a great opportunity to
get students involved in peer collaboration and
prepare them for the real world. Lastly, it
helps students to become more engages and
creates successful teachers.
The resources suggested are, Sophia,
Edudemic, and Scholastic. Capella is a
reminder of why we use technology and
encouraging educators to use it more.
As a teacher, I would use this website to
remind myself why I need to use technology in
the classroom, especially if it seems as if it
may be frustrating at times.

http:/www.etips.info

ETIPS takes education and puts it into a

technology form. As it stands for Educational
Theory into Practice Software, developing new
software applications for case methods of
instruction.
This website is used to enhance and
complement teacher preparation programs. It
offers educators an abundant amount of
resources for integrating technology into the
classroom. All of the information used is
assessment based and researched based.
ETIP was sponsored and made possible by the
U.S. Department of Educations Preparing
Tomorrows Teachers to Use Technology. This
is how the website got started and was a huge
success.
Knowing that this is funded by the U.S.
Department of Education gives me confidence
in the information that is posted on this
website and that it is resourceful. As a teacher,
I will feel as if this is a reliable source that I
can use for my classroom.

dedicated to teaching, learning, and leading.
On this website, there are videos, books,
online courses and events that will help
students reach the full potential they deserve.
Through this source of technology, teachers

I really like how this website is not only for
the teachers, but the students. This gives
students a chance to learn on their own while
using technology.
This will definitely be a website that I
bookmark and bring up again when I start my
teaching career. There is so much information
and it is offered through many different
resources.

Early Childhood Research and Practice is a

peer reviewed website incorporating
multilingual journals on the developments,
education and care of young children.
This website was edited by Lilian Katz, Jean
Mendoza, Susan Fowler, and Kevin Dolan.
This is more of a website for teaching and
using technology for younger children, but this
is where the learning begins. Children now a
days are using technology at such a young age
that this information comes in handy. This
website gives a breakdown of what a child
should be learning, when, and at what
grade/age. This gives guidance on the K-2
curriculum.
I may not use this website as much because I
will be teaching a higher grade, but I do think
it is still great information to read and know.

http://www.nowhereroad.com

This website is an article that was written by

Simon Hooper of University of Minnesota and
Lloyd Rieber of The University of Georgia.
This article discusses a model of technology to
use in the classroom. The Idea and
Product Technologies according to these two

Reorientation, and Evolution.
This article gives great insight as to what
technology in the classroom should look like
and they give great references from great
educators. They even give great discussion
questions at the end that really make you think
and realize how far technology has come.
As a teacher, I will use this website to help me
integrate technology into the classroom and
have knowledge of how to properly do so
