Views on Another City
Reading the novel "Another City" was more interesting then I had first thought it would
be. I enjoyed reading this novel much more then the other readings just due to the fact that I
knew the street names and some of events that took place in the novel. What surprised me was
that in some story's such as "Fried Chicken" the author referred to the city that I live near,
Panorama City, near Roscoe, as a lower class city, rather then where his friend lives. Now that I
completed reading the novel something that I did not expect was, how much I did not know
about the Los Angeles, even being born and raised in it. I felt that it was my fault that I did not
know about the LA Riots, until I asked one of my friends my age and they had no clue what I
was referring to. The City of Los Angeles is an amazing place with plenty stereotypes and this
novel is great for anyone who would like to know all about the city in others views and
experiences.
