TECHNIQUE PURPOSE:
1. Why is a catalog needed:
I had read somewhere that CATIA uses a mono part per document philosophy. So in other words
there can be only one part number per CATPart. I believe this is why Dassault Systmes has
provided us with the tools necessary to maintain their philosophy.
2. The tabulated .CATPart contained within are meant to be used as a seed part to create fasteners unique
to your business. All the necessary ASME , ANSI, and IFI information is already present in the design
table. Part Numbers, Descriptions, Lengths, Thread Lengths, Material, Grades, and Finishes are all
generic values that I came up with to create the fastener. I would not have been able to test the process
without it, this information should come from your organization.

It is my intention in this documentation to show you how to create your own catalogs using my tabulated
part with your Part Numbers, Descriptions, Lengths, Thread Lengths, Materials, Grades, and Finishes. In
addition to being shown how to use this seed part the documentation will show you how to create a
company unique catalog as well as adding fasteners to your company unique catalog.
