My wife is in her last stages of pregnancy with our child and I will have joint responsibility for
the upbringing of the child.
Im applying to take time off work to support my partner and care for the child. The expected
date of birth for our baby is [insert date].
Id like to start my paternity leave the day the baby is born, whenever this occurs, and I
understand that if Im at work when the baby arrives, my leave will start the day after. I
would like to take five weeks leave. At the end of the five-week period, I will resume my
duties immediately.
I hope this is all satisfactory and I look forward to hearing back from you with confirmation of
the above.
