SHENANDOAH” UNIVERSITY Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing Nov 4, 2016 ‘To whom it concerns, Itis with great pleasure that I take this moment to tell you about Amy Kearnes. I was the clinical instructor for her medsurg clinical rotation in fall 2015. She is now in my 403, preceptorship class. She excelled for me then, and she continues to impress me now as she finishes her capstone and prepares to graduate. Amy possesses traits of someone who is more like a seasoned nurse rather than someone who is still a student in a nursing program. I attribute this in part to her background in the coast guard. She is self driven, professional, and always gives 100%. While she is fearless and eager to help with any situation, she is not reckless. In fact, I am impressed with her ability to stay grounded. She asks for help when needed, clarifies with questions, and has great situational awareness. 1 am perhaps most impressed by her desire to learn. She is very inquisitive and leaves no stone unturned when she approaches a new topic. If someone is going to find a subtle needle in the haystack with regard to a complicated patient condition, it is likely to be Amy. Amy will make a wonderful addition to your team, and is someone who will not only follow and represent you... she will also lead for you one day when called upon. If you have any ‘questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
