BBFC

BBFC stands for British board of film


classification, which is a non-governmental
organisation founded by the film industry in
1912. They are responsible for the
classification of films and censorship of
films and videos showcased in cinemas
and video works etc.
The opening scene of the upcoming
production Retribution is rated 15. This
production contains scenes of violence,
bloody imagery and strong language. We
believe 15 will be a suitable age for this
production as the theme of brutality is
portrayed as abnormal behaviour and mental
instability is also incorporated. It is advisable that
no one under the age of 15 should watch this film as it may cause
distress.
A film with a rating of 15 could include some of the following:
Discrimination evidence of homophobia or discriminatory
language or behaviour.
Drugs drug taking may manifest the idea of drug misuse as
something that is encouraged or accepted in society.
Imitable behaviour this is also known as dangerous
behaviour (hanging, suicide, self- harming).
Nudity there may be some nudity in sexual context but
usually without strong detail.
Threat there may be a strong threat and horror
Violence violence may be strong but it will not focus on the
infliction of pain and injury. The stronger gory images are most
unlikely to be shown.
Strong language there may be strong language.
