LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Students will:
1. Understand that changes effect everything on earth throughout the seasons.
2. Describe the current season that we are in and how the trees look.
3. Identify human preparation for seasonal changes.
ASSESSMENTS
Observations: Throughout this lesson the
teacher will have to pace according to the
students as it is a new topic which has not yet
been covered. Student observation and
feedback will be required.
Written/Performance Assessments: An assignment will be handed out where students will be asked to colour the trees appropriately for
the season asked. They will also label the trees accordingly and dress the person in the appropriate gear for the season.
PROCEDURE
Introduction (10 min.): Fall
Hook/Attention Grabber: Seasons of the Year Video (5 Minutes)
Assessment of Prior Knowledge: A few questions from previous lessons will be asked (Students will use whiteboards)
Expectations for Learning and Behaviour: Students are expected to be active participants in their learning and to feel
safe in a fun learner friendly environment.
Transition to Body: Now we are going to see how much you guys remember from yesterday and the day before.

Learning Activity #1: Smart Board Lesson: This section of the lesson will be a review of the first two lessons. During
this section of the lesson we will have the opportunity for group participation while reviewing the concepts we have
covered so far. (5 mins)
Assessments/Differentiation: Formative assessment will be given throughout this
Learning Activity #2: Assignment: Students will be asked colour the trees appropriately for the season asked. They
will also label the trees accordingly and dress the person in the appropriate gear for the season. (25 mins)
Assessments/Differentiation: Students will have the opportunity to express themselves throughout this project in a creative way that
they prefer.
Closure ( 5 min.):
Consolidation/Assessment of Learning: Students will show their completed worksheet to the teacher to confirm that the
knowledge has been retained.
Feedback From Students: Verbal feedback will be noted throughout the lesson.
Feedback To Students:Encouragement and guidance will be given throughout the lesson.
Transition To Next Lesson: Can you guys guess what season we are going to explore next?
