Greetings,

My name is Emily Butler, and I will be teacher assisting in Kathy

Drakos resource room this fall. My teacher assistant position will go through
the 9th of December. Until then, I will be in Mrs. Drakos room Monday-Friday,
mornings only. I am so excited to gain some new experience and work
closely with your child throughout this semester.
Since I will be working so closely with your child, I thought it important
to tell you a bit about myself. I am a senior at Grand Valley State University,
and I am working towards my certificate as a Special Educator. I have a lot of
experience as a camp counselor at both Indian Trails Camp, and Camp
Sunshine. I have also worked as a Paraprofessional in a range of classroom
settings. I am from Midland, MI; however, I have resided in the Grand Rapids
area for the last three years.
During my semester in your childs class, I hope to have the
opportunity to work with individuals and small groups of students. I will assist
Mrs. Drakos in running lessons, and hopefully run a few small lessons of my
own. Throughout these lessons, I will be observing and expanding my
knowledge of what it takes to work in a classroom

excited for the semester ahead and hope you and your child are as well!
