Congratulations to our newly elected SSG Officers for the years 2016-2017!

Dedicated and consistent with their annual commitment, the O.N.E. Tourism and BAFBEX 4D advisers and
committee members from the Tourism and the Hotel and Restaurant Management Departments, together
with their department heads, officially turned-over the proceeds of their respective projects to Herencia De
La Salle on October 23, 2014 at the Yellow Room of the Sen. Jose Diokno Hall.
Each department donated PHP 50,000.00 with a sum of PHP 100,000.00 cash and delivered a
heartwarming speech upon handing-over the mock checks to De La Salle Lipa President and Chancellor, Br.
Joaquin Martinez FSC, D. Min. and Alumni Linkages and Advancement Officer, Israel Tan.
A student representative of HRM said that [they are] thankful and honored to continue the legacy that the
first batch of organizers have started. She pointed out that their event BAFBEX 4D: Discover. Define.
Deliver. Diversify, delivered a whole package of learning and a priceless experience they obtained brought
about success after all their hardships.
Likewise, a Tourism student representative expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to reach out

through their event O.N.E. Tourism: Opportunities, Network, Empowerment. Taking to heart the Lasallian
mission of teaching minds, touching hearts, and transforming lives, they feel like they are on the right
track of practicing this.
The proceeds from the College of International Hospitality and Tourism Management were all fruits of the
labor of the two huge events that they organized and the Brother President commended them for their
mutually beneficial programs. All their sleepless nights were not in vain. He was looking forward to another
scholarship to be bestowed to a new grantee aside from an existing endowment that is currently being
enjoyed by a student through their previous proceeds.
The Vice Chancellor for Academics and Research Dr. Alicia Botardo expressed a heartfelt appreciation to all
the people involved for successfully staging this years BAFBEX and Tourism events which she fearlessly
predicted to have a potential to become national events soon. She acknowledged the CIHTM family for
imbibing the culture of sharing and giving, despite all the challenges they faced in the process of
organizing the events. She noted that the members of the committees never missed a mark on targeting
and accomplishing their goals.
Aside from the student representatives, HRM Department Chair Evangeline Necio, Tourism Department
Chair Andrenalyn Varona, LICA Head Chef Shirley De Jesus, and BAFBEX 4D Adviser Chef Patrick Maravilla
were all on hand at the turn-over rites.
