Key Stage 3 French Study Day Wednesday 8 February 2017
British Film Institute, Southbank, London We are pleased to inform you of an exciting opportunity for your son/ward to take part in an educational visit to the British Film Institute (BFI) on Wednesday 8 February 2017. The trip will involve students taking part in a course specifically designed for Key Stage 3 French students, entitled Cin-Mini Pour les Jeunes a Key Stage 3 Study Day. We believe this is an excellent opportunity for your son/ward to develop his knowledge of French language, culture and cinema, which is an essential part of the French curriculum. The cost of the trip is 8.00 per pupil; see below for more details regarding payment. Should there be any difficulties in paying this amount, please contact me at the school. Students will be accompanied by staff at all times, and we ask that they come to school at 8.30am and meet staff in reception, in order to reach the venue on time. We will walk to Isleworth Rail Station and take the train to Waterloo, before a short walk to the British Film Institute. The course runs from 10.30am to 3.30pm, which means that your son/ward should arrive back at Isleworth train station for around 5.00pm. Your son/ward will be dismissed from either Isleworth train station or school. Please specify your preference on the online consent form. Your son/ward should bring a packed lunch with him on the day, as there will not be facilities at the venue to purchase food. If he normally receives free school meals, he can collect a packed lunch from the canteen before we depart. The address of the venue is: BFI Southbank, Belvedere Road, South Bank, London, SE1 8XT. All students in Years 8 and 9 studying French have been invited to this event, but only twenty places are available. The best way to secure your place is to pay online (see below), as places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wish your son/ward to attend this educational visit, you are required to complete the following tasks by Monday 5 December: 1. Pay the 8.00 cost for the trip. The school no longer accepts cheques; our preferred payment method is online via our Tucasi payment system. You can access the online payment system via the school website or by visiting www.scopay.com/isleworth&syonschoolforboys - if you need help registering, please contact the Finance department at school. 2. Complete the online consent form This form gives your explicit written consent for your child to take part, and is a legal requirement. You can find it at www.isleworthsyon.org/bfi-french. Thank you for your support. Yours faithfully,
