Competitors Analysis:

The landscape care business can be divided into two types, residential and commercial. As a
startup, it is much easier to enter into the residential market compared with the commercial
market.
Within the residential market, there are two competitors: full-scale landscaping companies and
basic lawn care services. Larger homes that require other landscaping activities that need more
equipment and multiple employees. The margins are therefore larger for the full-scale companies
because they can charge more for the higher-skilled work. The other competitor is the basic lawn
care services. In the residential market, the current competition is underwhelming and often lacks
basic quality and professionalism.
The trend with the residential customers is that they are making their purchasing decisions based
on referrals and perceived professionalism and quality of service. We will provide competitive
pricing for its products, and will guarantee to match competitors' prices, but exceptional
customer service and product knowledge will make us stand out to our target markets. The size
of our inventory and the variety of choices our customers will have when choosing flowers,
trees, and shrubs will make Companys Name an attractive choice.

Competitors:
1- Traditional Individuals Malis: One-person garden maintenance operations, who usually
provide basic landscaping, grass cutting and ancillary services. The number of such
businesses is hard to assess. They primarily operate in the residential area.
2- Floriculture Services: Larger operations, which provide complete design, landscaping
and garden services, with full time employees.
3- Nursery Farms: Locally owned, and selling a limited variety of plants, shrubs, trees, and
garden products to the general public. This nursery is seasonal focusing on spring and
summer flowers. They have a very pleasant facility in which to shop, but prices are a
little more on average than Company Name with not a very good selection of trees and
shrubs.
4- Website Service: http://www.plants.com.pk: Offer over 200 varieties of Day lily,
Adenium and Gerbera. (They are also offering other rare plants like Vigna Caracalla,
Mucuna, empervirens, Clematis, Allium, Aristolochia Gigantea etc for sale). They sell

Landscape Architecture in Pakistan. They have the best range of Large and small
Landscaping Plants in Pakistan. And have landscaped various housing societies, farm

Landscaping Services
Landscaping companies offer a wide range of services, including lawn work such as mowing,
cutting and edging grassy areas, trimming bushes, laying sod, and maintaining yards and
grounds. Spring and summer months are peak seasons for this industry. The fall season
brings a change of weather and a change of focus, as landscapers find work laying gardens
and providing maintenance services such as pruning, weeding and fertilization. To keep busy
during the winter, some landscapers located in areas where it snows continue earning money
by clearing snow from driveways and parking lots.
Residential Landscaping
The landscaping industry is expected to see good growth in the coming years because
Pakistani are becoming more particular about maintaining their yards and landscapes -- for
their own enjoyment and also for raising the value of their home. A clean, well-kept property
is easier to sell and will achieve a higher sales price than a property that is poorly maintained.
This means more business for landscapers as homeowners consider adding professional
landscaping to their list of desirable home improvement projects. From keeping properties
neat to installing sod, gardens and patios, landscapers benefit from this growing focus on
property maintenance and improvement.
Commercial and Seasonal Landscaping
When economic conditions improve and new commercial properties are constructed and
developed, the demand for landscaping work rises. Typically, the revenue from landscaping
projects for corporate properties is higher than that of residential properties. This is because

to homeowners and local businesses. Often, larger companies set up units in smaller locales
to capture local and residential business, forcing small businesses to compete. With
equipment costs being relatively the same everywhere, the local landscapers are able to
compete by specializing in certain neighborhoods where they garner referrals and gain
respect for a job well done. In addition, they do not need to maintain offices or manage an
extensive payroll, which enables them to charge lower rates.
Summary:
Floriculture is a fast growing sector of Pakistan, which will be the best option of enhancing
income under restricted conditions. As Pakistan is blessed by favorable agro climatic
conditions, cheap labor and easily available variety of soils, it has the potential to develop a
strong floriculture sector. The Pakistani flower industry is not at a high standard because of
the unavailability of suitable facilities for harvest and post-harvest treatments, low
productivity and high cost of production, poor cold chain storage facilities, lack of proper
disease and pest control, lack of knowledge about the market, non-availability of skilled
labour during harvesting, and the non-availability of a well-developed internal market.
The issues related to the market are lack of a proper cold chain, lack of cooperation between
private and government sectors and inadequate transport facilities.
Now the government and private sector are trying to control these issues for enhancing the
floriculture industry in Pakistan.
