Benefits
Challenges
Flexible grouping allowed-organized by grad;
organized by schoo!
‘Assuming gr 1 is an the 1st floor, concerned
that itis not clustered together
Clusters of grade level classrooms
How do deliveries get to the kitchen
Collaboration opportunities
What is the community space?
Parking/drop offipick up
Are there multiple entrances/exits for
arrival/dismissal?
‘Are there cozy break out spaces in the
hallways?
‘Where will band/orchestra lessons/practice?
In the lunch room? (This doesn't work well.)
Classroom clusters on 2nd or 3rd floor (2)
Are there makerspaceltech project spaces on
each floor?
Community space
‘Sustainability made difficult by kitchen access
to community/gardening space
5th grade BB team?
AC?
Bigger classrooms
Emergency ramps? (Students with disabilities
exiting from upper floors?)
Flexible spaces
Is there garden space?
Dedicated makerspace
Ease of access to outdoors for outdoor
classrooms (2)
‘Art room is closer for younger students
Parking for staff and vistors (6)
Flex spaces to be used differently by
need/activity
Display space for student work (2)
Love having the media center separate from
the cafe and gym
How will transition time increase/change for
travel to cafelgymn/ etc?
Exciting to think about how the pods could be
inhabited; 1-5 or all one grade?!
‘Gym space/aym above cafeteria (3)/aym on
ssecond floor (3)/gym far from outdoor

Benefits con't Challenges con't
Glad we maintain the new playground
‘Are we attempting to ‘pack’ too much in a
small footprint..therefore creating a bigger
sense of cramped” space?
‘Space doesn't seem that flexible
PreK close to the road and far from gym and
playground (2)
‘Admin too separate from the rest (3)
K classrooms too spread out
Kis not clustered
‘Some specials on second floor
Drop offipick up all happening in the dotted
loop?
Downtown traffic
Questions: Could bathrooms be in preK-2 classrooms? Would there be a separate drop-
offipick up for preK? Would there be sound baffies of noise if gym is stacked on the cafeteria?
‘Where is the nurse located? What is the security like? Is the media center including a
makerspacellibrary? Can we have two cafeterias-Prek/3-5?Community Feedback

Music area behind the cafe Doesn't have single community space as gym
is on 2nd floor; accessibility of gym after
hours (2)
Most green space Don't like the gym on the second floor (3)-no
‘access to outside (5); noise(5)
‘Small group spaces between classrooms-
great for small group pullout
makerspaces?
‘Trees remain on property close to Central St.
Building design less “flowy”
Playground stays intact
Nurse if very far from classrooms
‘Compact footprint (3)
Minimize noise distraction from Central St. on
classrooms
Great flexible learning hallways
Just not as excited about this one
Like opportunities for main stair as central
focus
Like the cluster leaming set up better in other
versions
Nice classroom size
Kindergarten buddies
Nice break-out spaces
‘Media Center space seems a bit choppy
‘Cluster organization
Elevator too remote on third floor
Classroom clusters (neighborhoods) are great
‘Admin too farinot integrated into rest of space
More outdoor space; outdoor learning space
expanded
3rd floor bridge without space next to itis
lacking?
K too linear and spread out
PreK too far from everythingCommunity Feedback
Design W2a
Kitchen should not be at core/prominent

location
Gym should be directly adjacent to exterior
Att too far from stairs
Feels tight; not conveniently accessible to all
learners
Faculty space?
Feels boxy-not fluidity flow
In all 3 designs I'm concemed about concerts,
and plays. The room with the stage is small.
Handicapped-3 stories
Limited ceiling height for cafeteria and gym
‘Questions/comments/suggestions: Depress ‘st floor cafe, etc. to lower height of second floor
gym, etc, Can these designs handle EDP?
