On November 17th, 2026 |, Officer Panos, was dispatched by radio to Days Inn on § Baltimore rogarding shots fired, ACAD was dispatcived to that location as well ragarding a victim with a gunshot ‘wound, 2 3 Upon my arrival, | made contact with several subjects in the back parking lot that were standing ‘around a forte subject laying on the ground. The female was later Identified as Echo Welte, Echo ‘was laying on her right side with @ pool of blood under her head. I rolied her over and found her to hhave a gunshot wound to the head, unconscious and not breathing, Echo was latar pronounced dead ‘on scene by EMS. 5, Officers were advised the susvect had left tho aroa in a smaller silver or yray Nissan or Saturn car. Officers later spoke with Bethany Welte, Echo's daughter, She was on soene and advised her father, Danny Welte, called her over the phone and was apologhzing. 6 7, Officers were able to spoak ta Danny over the phone and he agreed to come into the police station, We received several reports from other family members that Danny had called or Spoken to them and apologized and had threatened self-harm, Oanny was eventually taken into custody, a 9. Det Lowrey coriducted an In custody Interview with Danny and read him Miranda. Det towrey advised Danny had admitted he had shot Echo. Danny disclosed he and Echo were arguing Inthe parking lot ahd he had his gun that he keeps in a hag in his car. Danny advised he end Echo were arguing over ‘Why they could not get along and then relationships the two were in, Danny advised he attempted 10, ‘shoot Echo once, but the gun jammed. Danny said he then ejected 4 rounds and an unknown male ‘came and interrupted them. Danny said he then weit around the male wha stepped in and shot Echo. 5 unspent .380 rounds were found on the ground just outside the drivers side door of the vehicle where the argument took place. One empty spent .380 shell easing was found newt to Echo's body in the parking ot. 0. 14, Tha male who stepped in, identified as James Dykes, describod the incident corroborated what Danny had said. also Days inn provided video of the incident from a camara in the parking lot that showed the incident as it happened matching what Danny and Jamas had described.
