Abstract
Knowing the customer requirements and intimating about the new offers/products are the main concerns
of any vendor. This problems can be solved efficiently by the combination of an iBeacon, a smart device
and cloud computing. An iBeacon is a Bluetooth based proximity device that communicates its presence
and distance to nearby smart device apps. This technology can be used to identify a customer and their
likes/dislikes based on their tracked records, which enables the vendors to perform customer selective
marketing. The technology also helps the customer to identify their interested products in their vicinity.
This paper discusses about how the location-aware technology can be used as a digital marketing tool and
its impact on the customer-management relationship.
