Hi Gareth,
Thanks for getting back.
I think the Minister should be referred to the article in the Guardian on 18 October 2011, titled, 'Hugh
Robertson welcomes Fifa plan to release bribery documents'.
Mr Robertson is quoted as saying 'that the credibility of the Fifa president, Sepp Blatter, was on the line
ahead of the pivotal executive committee meeting on Thursday and that the organisation had a long way to
go to root out corruption and reform its corporate governance.'
Do you think Mr Robertson should be asked if he is willing to common on the conduct and processes of the
international football authorities why not the international rugby ones?
Regards,
Jonathan

Hi Gareth,
Do you think you'd be able to follow this letter up, by sending this email to the Minister?
You know the current situation where the Government intervened on the decision of FIFA on the display of
remembrance day. Why are they willing to dispute the procedures and decisions of FIFA in this case, but not
the IRB in the case I raise.
I perceive the actions of the government as 'bias'. I wonder if you could provide me with the copy of the
Ministerial Code, so in addition to using the Nolan Principles I can see whether I can see whether there is ant
basis on which I can made a complaint for the government treating the case of the IRB actions less

favourably than that of FIFA, using the definition of bias in the judicial review I brought when I was 14 - R v
Mid Glamorgan County Council (ex parte Bishop).
Alternatively, to avoid any action, the Minister and Government might want to treat the case I raised about
the IRB with equal favour and diligence as he did the case on Poppies with FIFA.
Regards,
Cllr Jonathan Bishop LLM

Hi Gareth,
Hugh Robertson has been quoted in many media as saying that Blatter should step down "for the sake of the
game."
If he is willing to 'interfere' in the affairs of FIFA as an international sporting body, why won't he intervene in
the case of the IRB, on the basis I suggest?
Seems like a typical politician to be - inconsistent, saying anything that suits their point of view at the time he is running from the issue of the IRB, but is all to happy to interfere in another body.
I think as he as interfered in FIFA's affairs he should in the case of the IRB as well.
Jonathan
