John Hopkins Health System Human Resources Department 1800 Orleans St. Baltimore, MD 21287 Dear Human Resources Team, I am excited to know that you are considering me for a nurse staff position. I will be graduating from Eleanor Wade Custer School of Nursing at Shenandoah University in December 2016. I am elated at the prospect of being able to live out my dream of working as a registered nurse. I have extensive experience working with patients affected by a number of ailments. Most of my patients were elderly with some level of dementia or Alzheimers. I enjoy working with the geriatric population. I have also worked in a home care office as a service coordinator. I managed caregivers, provided training to caregivers, and developed different marketing strategies for the company. I am currently doing my preceptorship at Winchester Medical Center on the pulmonary/renal unit. I have dived in and taken full advantage of the opportunity to build upon my skills. I have done central line dressing changes, tracheostomy care, urinary catheterizations on both males and females, administered high alert medications such as heparin, just to name a few. I have worked with Epic and I am proficient with navigating it. I have taken patients down for tests. My time management skills and organizational skills are some of my strongest suits. I am able to prioritize and organize my patients needs in order to develop great rapport and provide quality holistic care. With most of my background in healthcare, I put an emphasis on keeping all of my patients safe because my first rule of thumb is, do no harm. I am excited and look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions or concerns you can contact me through email or by telephone. I am very honored and humbled for the opportunity to work at such a well renowned institution. Warmest Regards, Jasmine Mensah
