As a new graduate, I am looking to join your team as your hospitals mission and vision exemplifies what I look for in a hospital. I had the pleasure of reviewing your Quality Matters report for 2015 and saw how much the hospital has improved and maintained its excellent performance in a range of categories such as patient safety indicators, patient outcomes and process measures. Your hospitals exceptional service and commitment to providing quality care for its patients, makes it a great place for an entry-level nurse to work. As a nursing student at Shenandoah University, I have developed a high standard of honesty and integrity. In addition, I have developed exceptional nursing, leadership and interprofessional skills from clinical and QSEN group projects. My practice is built around respecting clients and coworkers, providing quality care and being respectful of other values and beliefs. My past medical experience includes an externship with Inova Alexandria Hospital. As an extern on the TWIG-Orthopedic unit, I was exposed to a diverse patient population, which increased my awareness to cultural differences. During my externship, I quickly discovered that teamwork is essential. This experience has helped me become more confident and helped me improve my nursing skills.
