Wish Upon a Star

Stars so bright, please hear the wish that I will utter tonight. I wish I
may, I wish I might have the greatest wish I wished tonight.
Gazing at the stars above the sky as the cold breeze touched her
face. The night was peaceful and quiet, varied constellations are visible
in the night sky, and the darkness seemed to be the perfect moment to
ease the pain and loneliness within herself.
Nancy Blaire Lawson is a young girl that lives in South Carolina.
She was an orphan, her parents died when she was just a year old in a
car accident. Her grandparents took good care of her and raised her to
be kind and decent girl. Her grandmother was so kind and
understanding while her grandfather is her greatest adviser and guide
when facing difficult things and problems in her life, thats why she
grew up so well. Her grandpa and grandma pampered their only
granddaughter so much but their neighbours thought that they are
making their granddaughter a brat. Their neighbours judged and
bullied Nancy whenever she walks in the streets or even walking in the
shoreline. People make fun of her because she was some kind of weird,
so Nancy decided to stay away from people and preferred to be an
introvert because she doesnt want to hang-out with the crowd. Her
grandparents doesnt know about whats happening with Nancy
because she choose to keep it a secret, she doesnt want her
grandparents to argue or fight their neighbours sknowing that she was
the reason.
Every night she sat in the shoreline alone thinking about ways to
overcome the fears that she had in her surroundings, she merely hated
herself because she was too weak.
Im such a wimp! If only I had the confidence and the guts to face
them I would definitely break them into pieces! Nancy mumbled to
herself as she held her stares in the stars above, waiting for shooting
stars to appear because she had that eagerness to wish. Luckily, after
a few minutes the thing that she waited for finally appeared, she
closed her eyes and started to wish.
Stars so bright please give me enough courage and power to win
this people who tried to belittle me each and every day, who bullied
me and made me think that I have no reason to exist in this world! I
am pleading you to please give me a power or just a potion to change
their attitudes and ways towards me, so that I wont live this kind of

life anymore. Nancys eyes brimmed with tears as she spoke and her
body felt tired and weary. Suddenly, a flash of bright light appeared
and a lady wearing a white dress with a silver cape and wand showed
up. The lady was glowing and she took smaller paces towards the little
girl. When Nancy shown her beautiful glowing face, she was
dumbfounded because such an unbelievable magic appeared in front
of her, she couldnt believe everything like it was just some kind of a
dream.
Who are you? Nancy queried. Nice meeting you, Nancy. I am
Cathalina, the fairy who grants the wishes of those people who felt
discouraged with their lives. I am here to help you. The lady
responded.
I would like to wish for some powers or even a potion just to
change the attitudes of my neighbours Nancy told the fairy. Nancy, I
know your Grandparents told you to never let the bad vibes fill your
soul and they taught you to be strong as well, there is no other potion
whom can change your neighbours attitudes, it is all within yourself to
handle and face these judgments that are thrown towards you. You
already have the power in your heart, the power to show them your
kindness, never hesitate to flaunt it. You have also the potion right
there in your hands, the potion to help them when nobodys around to
give them a hand. You are enough powerful, so never be ashamed of
who you are and what you have, remember judgments will always be
beside you whenever you do bad or even good. Show them the real
you and I promised, you will get the wish as much as you expected.
BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART, FOLLOW YOUR MIND, AND DO THE GOOD
THINGS IN LIFE. After uttering those words, the fairy disappeared in
the vision of the girl. Thoughts filled her mind in which she couldnt
fathom because the words kept on processing inside, until she became
oblivious and the last thing she knew is that she fell asleep.
A week had passed, Nancy gradually started to do all the Fairys
advice, she helped those who are in need especially the elders in their
neighbourhood, she tried to socialize with other people also particularly
the younger ones similar to her age. Nancy wasnt ashamed of she was
now because all she knows is, shes a human too which deserves
proper treatment and respect. No more hiding and no more shame, she
promised herself. Her confidence gradually developed which she
doesnt had before. It was a new experience for her to reach out for
other people. Nancy, that was once the introvert, belittled, an outcast
and having poor confidence to face and mingle the people, now she is
the Nancy whom people loved and immensely accepted.

Ever since the fairy showed up and spoke to her, Nancy was
determined to do everything that the fairy asked her to do. At first,
shes quite reluctant to follow the fairys advices because she was
afraid people might stare at her badly or people would show their cruel
sides to her which she feared the most, but she decided to do those
tasks because she really believed that its the only thing which could
change her life forever. How long will I be an outcast? I dont like to
hide her forever and be judged by the people around me. Its time to
conquer the fears I had. I will change for the best. Nancy mumbled
and felt determined to achieve her greatest goal. The negative
impressions of her neighbours before, gradually changed and they
started to flatter and compliment her. It was a new thing for Nancy to
be complimented by her neighbours because she was used being
thrown with nasty thoughts. This new thing makes it awkward for her
that made her act a little bit tense.
She had also her friends and her playmates whom she always
love to be with. Nancy was feeling complete, even though she doesnt
have her mother and father to pamper and nourish her with love, she
had also found the love of her grandparents and the love of her friends
towards her. She was now a Nancy that is very admirable.
After 8 years of being an outcast, Nancy became the peoples
favorites, she was very helpful and very industrious. After her wish
came true, the fairy once again showed to her. How are you Nancy,
Ive seen that a lot has changed. Your life improved huh. the fairy
teased her. Ahmm. Hahaha. Its quite unbelievable, I didnt expect
this to happen. Thanks to you Cathalina, youre really a big help.
Without you I wouldnt be able to achieve these kind of things. I was
now inspired to live knowing that lots of people love me now. Nancy
was very glad to meet again the fairy, she had this time to thank the
fairy for what she had done to change her life.

disappeared, Nancy sighed and beamed looking at the sky.
Her story serves as a great inspiration. She was a girl with
nothing, people even denied and discriminated her, but the greatness
and the good will always prevail.
