Dear Ms. Strong
I am happy to see that there is an opening at the Youth Center.
I am a senior at Western Michigan University who will be finishing my degree in May
2017 at Monroe County Community College. I will obtain a Bachelors in Criminal
Justice with a minor in sociology. I will be returning to the Monroe area December
4th.
My background includes being an assistant varsity football coach at Portage Central
High School, Resident Assistant for 3 years at Western Michigan University, and a
retreat leader throughout my high school career.
While being a Resident Assistant my responsibilities included security of the
building, community development, policy enforcement, emergency response, and
education. Ive dealt with a range of issues that included roommate disagreements,
bed bugs, armed robbery, attempted suicide, discovery of a dead body, and
drunken disorderly people.
In addition to these emergency responses I received an award for Leadership
Council advisor of the Year at Western Michigan University. This was in part because
the council held a haunted house that was voted Program of the Year.
