that they play?

Transition

(30 secs)

Those are all great answers! And yes, today we are going to
play a game of Quidditch. But first, to get ourselves warmed
up and ready, we are going to play Escape from Azkaban!
Instant Activity Instruction: Escape from Azkaban!

1 min
(1.30)

15 secs

1. Two students are chosen to be Dementors and one

student is chosen to be the Wizard/Witch.
2. Demonstrate the proper way to tag (in-between the
shoulders and the waist).
3. The two Dementors will have poly spots, and they will
be able to tag anyone but the Wizard/Witch with the
wand (pool noodle). Once a Dementor tags you you
have to stop in place and place your broom down, do
jumping jacks until the wizard with the wand comes to
save you. The only way to get back in the game is to
be tagged by the Witch/Wizard with the wand (pool
noodle).
4. All other participates will be doing locomotor
movements in open space that are determined by the
teacher, and try to avoid being tagged by the
Dementors.

(Choose a person to be
Harry/Hermione and choose two
people to be the Dementors)
(Demonstrate how to tag with the
pool noodle and poly spots)
Locomotor Movements:
- Walking
- Jogging
- Sliding

Transition
Count down from 5 (everyone find open space).

(1.45)
Instant Activity Game Play: Escape from Azkaban!
3 mins
(4.45)

30 secs

1. Music will begin to play and the locomotor skill will

be given.
2. Two Dementors tag with the poly spots and the
Witch/Wizard with the wand saves the other Witches
and Wizards who have gotten tagged.
3. Music Stops, FREEZE, teacher changes locomotor
skill, and music starts to play again.

Transition
Stop music: FREEZE

(5.15)
I need all of the equipment put up by the mirror and everyone
sitting in front of me (count down from 5)

(Play Harry Potter theme song,

and use FREEZE to change
locomotor movements)
Remind students of the safety
rules of tagging.

- Once a beanbag is made in a hoop, that hoop is
removed from the game.
- The first team to remove all of their hoops wins.

Level 1: Butter Beer Pong

sides of the field.

side of the field.

set of hoops on opposite sides of the field will have a
crate.

This time, the goal is to take the beanbag out of the

crate, and cross the mid field line and shoot from
wherever you wish to shoot from into the hoops.
Once all bean bags are shot, the team will dismount
their brooms by their crate, go pick up the bean bags,
and return the crate to where it was originally was, and
start of again until told by the teacher to move on to
the next level.

Level 3: (Teammate Passes)

- Use the same layout as level 2, but this time the teams
will take one beanbag at a time, moving the beanbag
down the field to score in the hoops. BUT everyone
on the team has to touch the beanbag twice before the
beanbag can be thrown into the hoop.
- Once all bean bags are shot, the team will dismount

Level 4: (Passing and Scoring)

- Now you will implement your offensive strategies you
just practiced in a game like setting.
- Gryffindor vs Slytherin!
- We are going to now redo level 3 from our skill
practice, BUT this time, the team to get all of their
beanbags successfully into the hoops first wins the
game.
- Each teammate has to touch the beanbag twice before
it can be scored. If a beanbag is dropped, it has to be
taken back to the milk crate and the progression needs
to start over.
- If a person is to ever drop their broom, they are to run
and touch base (where the bean bags are located) and
then they can get back in the game and continue
playing.
Level 5: (Passing/Scoring/Swat Downs)
- To make this a bit more difficult, we are going to use
the same rules from level 4, but this time you are able
to swat down the opposite teams beanbags.
- This time, once a beanbag is dropped or swatted down,
