3.3 Installation of Main Cabinet Unit & Power Supply Unit

3.3.1 Installation of Main Cabinet Unit
The Main Cabinet Unit& Power Supply Unit are usually hung on the wall or pillar of the cab, but the right location
should be discussed with captain to decide as the specific situation differs on different vessels. The exact
orientation and drill work could be taken into practice when the approximate position for hanging the main cabinet
unit is fixed. The steps are as following:
Mark the point for screw hole of the main cabinet and reservation area for the inner traverse line of the lateral
cover of the main cabinet by a pencil;
Remark: A rectangular hole of 50cm2 will be required.
Drill the holes by electric drill and fix the screw by proper tools.
Drawing display is as below:

We suggest that the serial-port cable and the download cable should be put in the Main Cabinet Unit and kept for
using after installation. The 2-score plug of the PC Monitor Cable should be connected PC Monitor plug of the
Main Cabinet Unit. As following:

3.3.2 Installation of Power Supply Unit

The Power Supply Unit usually hung next to the Main Cabinet Unit and usually supposed to be fixed at the right of
the main cabinet or under the same. Fixing the power supply unit is as same as the main cabinet unit or much
easier. We must pay attention, there are 2 pcs of input wires(one is used forAC110/220 V main power and the other
used for DC24 V emergency power ) into the power supply unit, which must be appointed their proper positions to
get electric source from the power distribution cabinet on the ship under the supervision of the electric engineer.
The power must be cut off prior to any operation mentioned above and which must be sure to keep it in mind.

chance will be bigger. The installation position of PDC should apart from rigging and other potential impediment,
and close to the ships central line as much as possible. Following cases should be considered at least when
confirming the best position:
The distance is further enough to the oil or latent fire.
It is separate from the things that may result in any mechanical damage.
The environment should be suitable for the PDC work normally.
Anybody can reach it as well as copy the data or maintain it.
The diver or the robot will be salvage it easily. Of course the space around the PDC shouldnt be blocked off
For the FPDC, when released from the container, it shouldnt be blocked.

3.4.1 Fastness of Fixed PDC

Weld the mounting base in a wide area close to central line on gyro board, and open a 30cm hole directly behind
the base( buttock direction), then weld the longer port of U pipe to the hole area on board. Wipe rust-proof lacquer
and power lacquer after the welding.
Connect PDC with installation bracket, and pull out of the bolt make bracket separate
from PDC, then fasten the bracket to the base with 8 sets of screws of M1020.
Put the PDC onto bracket, then insert the bolt and envelope the label.
