Design Basis & Treatment Philosophy
The Sewage treatment plant is designed to treat 30.0 m3/hr (600 m3/day) feed ow rate and
15m3/hr (300 m3/day) RO Treated water can be reused for gardening purpose.

The treatment steps are described in detail as below:

I. Screening & collec on:The Sewage euent is passed through a drain channel wherein suitable bar screen
is installed for segrega on of waste material such as plas c sheet, waste cloth, and other
foreign material more than 20mm size. The screened euent is collected in to Aera on Tank
lled with MBBR media.
II. Aera on Tank for MBBR Biological Treatment:
The aera on tank is designed on the basis of
Moving Bed Bio Reactor with ac vated sludge recycles.
Slow speed core bobble aera on by SS-304 Aera on Grid is provided to supply necessary
oxygen for development of aerobic bacteria. The aerobic mass developed acts upon the most
complicated organic ma ers and disintegrate them into simpler products such as CO2 etc.
The aerated euent is then allowed to se le in a secondary Se ling clarier, where the
ac ve and inac ve bacterial mass se les down and clear water overows. The se led
biomass in the secondary clarier is again recycled back into aera on tank to maintain the
desired MLSS (mixed liquor suspended solids) in the aera on tank. The excess sludge
provided in the biological treatment is then discharged out for further disposal.
III. Descrip on of Chemical Treatment:
Suitable quan ty of Hypochlorite and PAC are dosed into ash mixer. Flash mixer tank is provided
with agitator mechanism to mix the coagulant chemicals and incoming euent from Secondary
Se ling Tank. The ash mixed euent is then discharged into Flouculator and poly electrolyte is
dosed for occula on, followed by Lamella Tube Se ler for water clarica on.
Here Hypochlorite act as a disinfect as well as coagulant and addi onal requirement, we add Poly
Aluminum Chloride (PAC)
IV. RO MEMBRANE FILTERATION:
TheTreated water overow from Lamella Tube se ler passed through the Pressure
Sand lter and further the euent is passed to Pressure Sand Filter, ac vated carbon lter
and RO Membrane Filtra on. Filter will be free from suspended solids and Dissolved solids.
