During PE Lessons

Statement of Inquiry: Effective interaction and communication may assist


skill development in movement contexts.

Task Description:
Students will participate in modified skill, drills and games of basketball over the
course of the unit. On assessment day, the assessed person will wear a different
colour bib or sash to the other students. The task will last for 5 minutes, and in this
5 minutes students will be filmed by the teacher and be assessed on their ability in
the following areas:
1. Movement off the ball to create space for team members.
2. Communication with team members whilst on the court.
3. Following the rules and playing fairly with strong team spirit.
4. Making informed decisions when put in a difficult situation.
5. Passing, Catching, Shooting and Dribbling
Once complete, students will get to watch their video at a later time and complete a
reflection on their performance and how they believe they can improve in the
future.
