Ryanair Airlines UK
This project Presentation on Cultural change management in Ryanair has been assigned to our
group in module of organizational change management. The core aspects of this presentation
deal with the organization structure, characteristics of culture, and cultural change management.
The objectives set for this presentation was to explore the internal cultural aspects of Ryanair and
needs for change in organizational cultural practices.
Our group has divided the responsibilities and performed all tasks according to set directives of
the module. First person has the job of searching company information and cultural practices
along with the unique features of this trend setter airline. Second person has the responsibility of
finding relevant theories and matching the contemporary business model of Ryanair with the
important areas of culture in the form of employees norms, leadership, and customer
relationships were identified. This low costs-no frill airline has the most astonishing feature of
transformational and transactional leadership of OLeary, who turned around this organization
through his out of box strategies in airline industry. In contrast, recent years have seen the lack of
employees coordination and contemptible customers relationship management. The down to
earth attitude and rigid practices of OLeary has made the employees deprived of necessary
resources, neck breaking stress of handling millions of passengers per year, and demoralized
attitudes of management.
Consequently, the project seemed to be very simple in the beginning but it turned to be a more
challenging and enthralling task. The group had synergy from the beginning as we have mutually

agreed on the set of responsibilities. Few delays were observed but had managed in the end.
Being the group leader, I had not only supervised the group activities but also compiled all
collected parts in one presentation. One of our group members is good in graphics and designing,
has designed the layout of the presentation. The finalised presentation was an outcome of entire
group activities and resulted in a harmonized and sequential effort. The learning from opinion
differences and argument is also worthwhile in this project as it helped in editing and edging of
this presentation.
The knowledge imparted by this project is significant in our future endevours as it provides an
insight in to the real life cultural management practices in one of its own kind organization
Ryanair. The future management need to accommodate with the dynamic changes in employees
expectations and customers trends in airline business.
