Technology for all and one, not just for some

As I imagine, predict, and depict the direction of technology it is challenging to

conduct a vision that encompasses all technology entities. Thinking about the current
institution and area in which I currently teach helps me formulate a vision that not only
speaks directly to my area, but it also is a worldwide vision. I see technology not just as
a global connector, but I see technology as a way to entitle, empower, and grow each
and every individual. My vision is to equip each and every individual with the tools,
knowledge, and skills needed in order to compete with the swift growth and
development of technology.
Technology has closed global gaps in that with a click of a button we can now
connect with anyone around the world; however, technology has expanded educational
gaps. The advancement of technology, technology usage, and education in the use of
technology varies region, state, district, and schools. I visualize teachers,
administrators, and parents provided with tools that can help contribute to the growth
and development of children. Employers, policy makers, and educational leaders are
starting to agree that all citizens need to be technologically literate in order to succeed
in today's world. What should be essential education for all pupils regardless of their
socio-economic background, gender, or heritage? (Satchwell, R. E., & Dugger, W. E.
1997).Time and research will be put in place within our country, we will understand the
key elements that all students will need in order to compete in a technological advanced
society. Those tools will be placed in every classroom, all teachers will receive the same
training, and technology standards will be infused with content standards. I would like to
see the gap closing between genders, socio-economic status, and special needs.

When I visualize classrooms, I see student led and directed classes with
teachers utilizing technology at the highest LOTI level daily. I see virtual classroom
designed in that students can step in worlds in the past, present and future. I see
students being the director of their own stories, imaginations run wild as they speak into
microphones that write stories for them. Technology draws its domain along the
dynamic continuum that starts with human wants and needs and ends in the satisfaction
of those wants and needs. It includes such human capability as designing, inventing,
innovating, practical-problem solving, producing, communicating, and transporting.
Technology influences our society and culture by changing our lives and our
environment. Since education is an important component of our culture, the study of
technology must be an essential part of our educational core or basic subject
requirements in grades K-12 and beyond. As a core subject, technology education
strives to help students understand, use, and evaluate the effects of current and
emerging technological devices and activities. Technology education can provide a
continuum of educational benefits to all students, from awareness to competence
(Satchwell, R. E., & Dugger, W. E. 1997). The future of technology is the in the hands
on educators, we are an important component in the wave of the future. In order to
accomplish such goals all stake holders have to been involved, and make technology a
priority.
