In my storybook I chose to go for a linier story line
because linier story lines would only follow either one character or only one event. There for children could easily understand the story line and could continue to follow it easily without having to look for guidance about what is going on Other stories or Entertainment series use a non-linier story line to either develop characters or keep audiences interested with different events going on in the same universe (World in which this story takes place.) One series on television use a non-linier story line to keep at rack of the vast amount of characters they have and Game of Thrones is a clear example. In one episode they could show three different characters story lines in one episode. Another type of structure I use in my story would be a closed narrative, just to keep my story with a clear beginning and end. Keeping a childrens storybook more simple than complex would be beneficial considering I wouldnt want to confuse my main audience. Other shows, movies or book use open narratives to keep a story going or to allude to a characters success or demise. Or they just want to sequel bate. Soap operas use open narratives to continue storylines and to keep a there TV show going with new content. Soap operas like holly oaks or east Enders. I will use a single strand narrative in my story to keep the book easy to read and understand by my child demographic. Single stand narratives are often used in a wide range of entertainment another show that uses a
single strand narrative would be other childs TV
shows like ben 10. Some other methods of entertainment use multi-strand storylines like comic books like Batman, The Avengers and Spiderman. Realist narrative is more based around life or elements with some aspects made up. Things like reality TV shows like Jodie shore or Im a celebrity get me out of here. Obviously I would use a Nonrealistic narrative to appeal more to the story side and keep the attention of my audience of children who would be more interested in a non-realistic setting than a realistic. The Many components of the story that I have included would be - Opening - Conflict - Resolution A basic story line to keep children interested and to make sure they are not confused by whats going on in the story. Because of the basic nature of my story it shares a lot in common with many other stories that are even Realistic/Non realistic. You could draw a comparison to any basic movie, book, game or TV show. Just for context and comparison one other piece of media which uses the same basic format would be the Harry potter franchise. (If you looked at it as one big book) You can tell where the opening it to the general conflict and the resolution are.
