Its my honour to function as the School Pupil Leader of the most reputed school in the district.

Our principal Sr.Felicia

has given me the opportunity of representing the school in various fields.
We belong to a school where a balanced academic program along with moral and ethical environment is provided
and all the students get the opportunity chance to show their potential.
The Year, 2017 will be a turning point in our life. We will have to begin a new chapter of life without anyone to guide
us. We were fortunate that we got the teachers who always stood behind us in our ups and downs.
Our awesome time passes in the school with many classes, extra-curricular activities, socialevents, outings and the
most important with friends and classmates who made our school life interesting and ever-remembering .Whenever in
future, I will turn the book of my life, this chapter will be most delightful to me, permanently etched on the tablets of
my memory.
I believe my duty is to keep up the name of my school and raise it to greater heights and also I hope my teachers will
guide me and cabinet will support me in the path of fulfilling my duties.
My only wish is that God may give me strength enough to stand for my schools reputation.

Our School Captains

It is such a privilege to be given the esteemed title of John Paul College School Captains for 2016.
Between us, we have accumulated 19 years of schooling at John Paul College and therefore have a
deep appreciation for what it feels like to be a part of the John Paul College family. Through the
many opportunities the College has made available to us and with the guidance of the dedicated
staff, we have been able to flourish in reaching our goals in a range of academic, cultural and
sporting endeavours to date.
In 2016, we, alongside our Vice Captains, Prefects and fellow classmates, vow to impact the lives of
our John Paul College family members. We will amplify our ideas, attitudes and values in order to
positively influence our local, national and global communities. Ideals such as respect, fairness and
unity will be reflected in our daily actions. In the context of John Paul College, we will make every
effort to serve and assist our peers as they strive to become the most excellent versions of
themselves.
As we embrace the challenges that will come with our final year of schooling, we want to wish the
entire John Paul College family the best in all endeavours and challenges they face throughout
2016. We encourage all students to give their best and to embrace all the opportunities the school
has to offer.
Our prayers and blessings go with you for a successful 2016.

Nelson Mandela once said Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world
With the continuous instabilities in society, now more than ever education is vital. Loreto has been more than an
institute for education, it has been a lifestyle. Loreto is truly interested in developing the holistic person.
The reason I can say this with such conviction is because I have experienced this transformation first hand.
Reflecting on those important younger years at Loreto Normanhurst, where I would walk into school with my dress
to my calves and my blazer a size too big, I began to comprehend just how special this school was.

What makes Loreto unique is not only the vertical pastoral system or having subjects such as Integrated Learning,
but the people which makes this school. The dedicated staff, my supportive parents and wonderful peers have guided
and inspired me.
We are liberated, empowered and motivated to use our individual gifts. Having an older sister go through Loreto
Normanhurst before me, I thought I knew how the school worked, but I was unaware of the little things that make
Loreto Normanhurst truly special. The best way to sum up it up is through using the FACE acronym.

Faith (e.g. Friday Morning Communion Services, Midday Gongs)

Academic (e.g. designated conversation periods with teachers)

Community (e.g. social justice activities, pastoral care)

Extra-Curricular (e.g. sports, music ensembles)

I personally have gained different yet equally valuable life lessons throughout my journey at Loreto in comparison
with my elder sibling- although we lived under the same roof and share the same love for our school.
Coming to Loreto Normanhurst, or the Loreto Normo Experience will be different to the person next to you, but
one thing that is integral is the Loreto values of Mary Ward.
In this years theme of Felicity, we are all called to embrace every opportunity we are given with a genuine nature
and a spirit of optimism. Through our acts of generosity both within and outside of Loreto, we hope to promote joy
and bring happiness into the lives of others.
With my final year drawing to a close, I look towards the future, hopeful. Hopeful, because although 2016 will bring
its challenges and will also bring its triumphs, I have been privileged to experience an education which provides me
with the skills and attitudes toultimately change the world, just as Mandela envisioned.

SCHOOL CAPTAIN 2016

MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL CAPTAINS

Now that we have entered our final year at Ivanhoe Girls, we feel a true sense of appreciation towards
the supportive community we have been surrounded by. The focus on developing healthy relationships
between students and teachers provides a unique foundation to enable girls to reach their full potential.
This environment allows us to face both social and academic challenges with confidence.

In particular, this belief in our abilities encourages girls to step out of their comfort zone and participate in
the myriad of co-curricular activities offered. Personally, the opportunities we have been given in sport,
debating and music have created unforgettable memories which we will always cherish. Additionally
participation in these activities has allowed us to make friends with a wider range of students. These are
all aspects of Ivanhoe Girls which make the School a happy place to learn.
Being conscious of the privilege of attending Ivanhoe Girls is a source of motivation to give back to the
wider community. We admire the dedication of girls who consistently donate their time and effort to worthy
causes. We aim to lead the Class of 2016 to see our last year as an opportunity to give back to the huge
support network we have had over the past six years. Our year level is a highly socially aware group of
young women which is why the notion of service will be an integral part of our final year. We are looking
forward to supporting our peers through both their successes and disappointments and are sure they will
achieve incredible feats. We hope to represent the School and our year level in an honourable and
truthful way, giving the school community the recognition it deserves.
