GENESIS / BARASHITH 4
1. And Adam knew his ashah (Kuah), and she conceived and bore Qayin, and said,
I have gained a man from YAHUAH. 2. And again, she gave birth to his brother
Hebel. And Hebel became a keeper of sheep, but Qayin became a tiller of the
ground. 3. And it came to be, in the course of time, that Qayin brought an offering
of the fruit of the ground to YAHUAH. 4. And Hebel also brought of the firstborn
of his flock and of their fat. And YAHUAH looked to Hebel and his offering, 5. but
He did not look to Qayin and his offering. And Qayin was very wroth, and his
face fell. 6. And YAHUAH said to Qayin, Why are you wroth? And why is your
face fallen? 7. If you do well, is there not acceptance? And if you do not do well,
sin is crouching at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should master it. 8.
And Qayin told Hebel his brother. And it came to be when they were in the field,
that Qayin rose up against Hebel his brother and killed him. 9. And YAHUAH said
to Qayin, Where is Hebel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my
brothers guardian? 10. And He said, What have you done? The voice of your
brothers blood cries out to Me from the ground. 11. And now you are cursed from
the arets, which has opened its mouth to receive your brothers blood from your
hand. 12. If you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. You shall
be a fugitive and a wanderer on the arets. 13. And Qayin said to YAHUAH, My
punishment is too great to bear! 14. See, You have driven me from the face of the
ground today, and I am hidden from Your face. I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer
on the arets, and it shall be that anyone who finds me kills me. 15. And YAHUAH
said to him, Well, if one kills Qayin, vengeance is taken on him sevenfold. And
YAHUAH set up a sign for Qayin, lest anyone finding him kills him. 16. So Qayin
went out from the presence of YAHUAH and dwelt in the land of Nob on the east
of Eden. 17. And Qayin knew his ashah, and she conceived and bore Kanok. And
he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Kanok.
18. And to Kanok was born Irad. And Irad brought forth Mehuyal, and Mehuyal
brought forth Methushal, and Methushal brought forth Lemek. 19. And Lemek took
for himself two wives, the name of one was Adah, and the name of the second was
Tsillah. 20. And Adah bore Yabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents,
with livestock. 21. And his brothers name was Yabal. He was the father of all those
who play the lyre and flute. 22. As for Tsillah, she also bore Tubal-Qayin, a smith
of all kinds of tools in bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-Qayin was Naamah.
23. And Lemek said to his wives, Adah and Tsillah, hear my voice! Wives of Lemek,
listen to my words! For I have killed a man for wounding me, even a young man for
hurting me. 24. For Qayin is avenged sevenfold, and Lemek seventy-sevenfold.
25. And Adam knew his ashah again, and she bore a son and called his name
Sheth, For Alahim has appointed me another seed instead of Hebel, because
Qayin had slain him. 26. And to Sheth, to him also a son was born. And he called
his name Anash [meaning mortal]. Then he began to call on the Name of YAHUAH.
( When you look at the Comic Book Version on the next page, just remember that the first family had very very black skin. )

TWO brothers
So Adam and Kuah began to adjust to their new life of hardship and
labor outside of the Garden of Eden. They had two sons and they brought
them up in the instructions and lessons they themselves had learned from
their Creator Yahuah. Both boys were raised the same way with the same
love and understanding, and with the same priviledges and opportunites
however we see two very different behaviours forming in Qayin and his
brother Hebel (known as Cain and Abel today). Aside from having different gifts
and passions (Qayin loved working the earth and was a farmer while
Hebel was a shepherd) the bad behaviour really started to manifest when
the two boys were instructed (no doubt from their parents) about how to
approach the Creator Yahuah through offerings and sacrifices.
Rememebr back in the Garden of Eden right after Adam and Kuah ate the
forbidden fruit, they realised they were naked (the essence and covering
of the Creator had left them) so they grabbed the first thing they could
find (fig leaves) to cover up their private bits. Of course after the smoke
settled it was pretty obvious that leaves are pretty useless for clothing
and so the first animal had to be slaughtered (most likely a lamb) and
its blood shed to cover up the nakedness (the sin and lawlessness) of
mankind. Prior to this there was no death - all species lived in peace
together and ate plants, not each other - today it is very different isnt it.
This symbolic practice of animal sacrifice became a way for Adam and
Kuah (and all mankind until Yahusha arrived) to not only clothe themselves
but repent for their lawlessness and approach Yahuah (remember Yahuah
cannot be in the presence of sin, so some covering had to be done before
any apprach could be made - and the only thing that can cover sin is the
blood of a spotless (perfectly bred) animal.
instruction (he just grabbed some stuff from his crop and thought itd be
good enough) but after being told he was wrong, (instead of learning
the lesson and doing it again properly) he immediately got furious and
threw a big sissy-girl tantrum!!! Remember they were still young men and
this could have been their first offering. There was room for improvement
and Qayin could have repented, changed his mind and done a better job
next time, but instead he had an absolutely disgusting attitude to learning.
Yahuah even asked Qayin why he was furious (because it was aparantly
everyone elses fault but not Qayins) and if he did well (be obedient to
the instruction) he would be accepted and given favour.
Just like a lion or a tiger hiding down on all fours, knees bent ready to
pounce and attack its prey, sin is crouching at the door and its desire
is for us. Why does Yahuah speak of sin like its a creature or a person?
BECAUSE IT IS.
Where did sin first come from? THE GARDEN OF EDEN.
Who did sin first come from?
The ground was cursed for Qayin and nothing would ever grow or flouirsh
for him again. As a farmer, this would have been Qayins passion and
love, watching things bloom and grow from nothing - the sowing and the
reaping. How upsetting would this punishment be for him? Next Qayin is
told he must leave his home and family. Most farming people stay on the
same piece of land for generations. The land and the family is their whole
life! Then more devastation came for Qayin - He is cut off from the presence
of His Creator (hidden from His face). How many stories would he have
heard from his parents about leaving the Garden of Eden and their daily
desperation to be in the presence and favour of Yahuah? He knew and
loved his relationship with the Creator but his lawlessness, stubbornness
and unrepentance had brought a curse. Was Yahuahs punishment too
harsh or did the Creator simply see and know Qayins true heart.
How did Qayin find a wife if Adam and Kuah were the only family on the
earth? Life was very different back in the early years of the earth. Adam
lived for 930 years and the whole time he and Kuah were producing sons
and daughters. Thats hundreds of childrens who also had hundreds of
children who also had hundreds of children. The lifespan was much longer
back then and the human body was created pure, with no diseases. For
this reason brothers and sisters and cousins often got married. This sounds
so dreadful to us today because mankind is so lawless and diseased that
marrying so close within your own family will often make deformed or
disabled babies. But back then it was not the case and so as time went on
Qayin would have had many sisters which he could marry. And so he did.
After the devastation of losing both of their sons, Adam and Kuah had
another son named Sheth, whose family and decendents loved Yahuah,
called on His Name and continued the righteous bloodline for over a
thousand years until the time of Noak. Yahuah always has a few people.
BEHAVIOURal LESSONS:
From the STORY of Qayin and hebel we can see
two very different behaviours. One brother
chose to happily obey YAHUAHS instructions and
the other chose to disobey. life is all about
choices and yahusha lets us choose whether we
will love him enough to please him. those who
are obedient and behave themselves receive
favour, blessings and happiness. those who
are disobedient receive misery and a curse.
there is always evil lurking around every
corner to stop us from pleasing yahusha by
whispering horrible thoughts in our ears which
we may be tricked into thinking are our own
thoughts and to do them.
we need to arrest every thought and check it!
there is no point being wroth and jealous of
other peoples favour, thinking you are being
unfaily treated or that yahusha loves them
more. we all have the same opportunity to
please yahusha - some want to HONOR HIM AND
BE OBEDIENT and some dont.
dont be tricked into thinking you can get away
with disobedience - yahusha always delivers
the punishment and blessings we deserve. it
never makes sense to sin against Him.
Always repent, change and dont let the
crouching sin have you - say no and Be master
over it !
