ZX ZWhat is a resource ?

Resource is a a source of supply, support, or aid, especially one that can be readily drawn upon when

needed.
And renewable resource is a resource that can be totally replaced or is always available naturally, or that is practically inexhaustible.

Sustainability is the goal of sustainable development an unending quest to improve the quality of peoples lives and surroundings, and to prosper without destroying the
life-supporting systems on which current and future generations of humans depend.
Sustainable development is a process of for meeting human development goals while sustaining the ability of natural systems to continue to provide the natural
resources and ecosystem services upon which the economy and society depends.

Sustainable development, or sustainability, has been described in terms of three pillars, i.e. the environment, the economy and society.

sustainability is

the study of how natural systems function, remain diverse and produce everything it needs for
the ecology to remain in balance. It also acknowledges that human civilisation takes resources to
sustain our modern way of life . Sustainability takes into account how we might live in harmony
with the natural world around us, protecting it from damage and destruction.

We all live on planet earth, which is the only planet known to have an environment, where air and water are two basic things that sustain life. Without air and water the
earth would be like the other planets no man, no animals, no plants.

But man, as the most intelligent animal, never stopped being inquisitive, nor was he content with the bounties of nature own. His quest for knowledge and search for
security succeeded in exploring newer and wider avenues of mysteries that remained baffling so long. With the dawn of the age scien of ce and technology, there has
been huge growth and development of human potentials. And, it is here that man first began losing control and became prisoner of his creations

The industries all over the world that brought prosperity and affluence, made inroads in the biosphere and disturbed the ecological balances. The improper disposal of
industrial wastes are the sources of soil and water pollution.. The harmful smoke of the vehicles causes air pollution. Further, the sounds produced by these vehicles
produces causes noise-pollution. The urbanization and the rapid growth of industrialization are causing through environmental pollution the greatest harm to the plant life,
which in turn causing harm to the animal kingdom and the human lives .Due to the increase in population, particularly in developing countries, there has been surge in
demand for basic food, occupation and shelter. The world has witnessed massive deforestation to expand absorb the growing population and their demands.

Environmental pollution has negatively affected the life of both human-beings and animals. Almost all of our gains in the fields of industrial progress, science and
technology had so far been re alized at the cost of our health. Even our flora and fauna were found to be threatened with extinction

Here are some stats about pollution worldwide

year

Around 14 billion pounds of plastic are dumped into

the ocean every
Breathing the air in, India, for just one day is equivalent
to smoking 100 cigarettes.

Americans throw away 2.5 millionplastic bottles per hour. Each one takes 500

years to decompose.

The Great Wall of China is not visible

from space, but China's air pollution is.

A third of humanity, including 60% of Europeans and 80% of North

Americans, live in such light polluted areas that the Milky Way is not
visible at night.
Are we consuming more resources than what is available? Only 2.5% of the
worlds total water volume is fresh water!!!!. Oil reserves are a non-renewable resource and accounts for 40% of all
energy we use and we have enough Oil to last for 25 years only. An estimated 18 million acres of forests are destroyed
each year .Half of the worlds forest has been cleared !!!!!!.Deforestation has contributed 12 to 17% of global
greenhouse gas emissions annually.

Than is there any solution to all these ?Yes

there are to many solutions !!
1}solar energy : sun shines on the homes of the poors
and rich with equal intensity .if we harness all the
sunlight faliing on the earth at any instant ,it will provide
us energy enough for one year. Every day earth receives
an amount of solar energy equal to 30 years of world
fossil fuel energy use .the world largest solar power plant
is in California which covers the land of about 1000 acres .

IN FACT OF RECEIVING PLENTY OF SUNLIGHT,only 0.7%of all

energy
used worldwide is solar energy. Also use of solar

heater and solar cookerreduces our dependence on fossil

fuels .
A household rooftop solar panel system can reduce pollution by 100 tons of CO2 in its lifetime including the energy it took to manufacture the solar
panels. This can improve future air quality for humans as well as the millions of birds, fish, and mammals that are negatively affected by pollution each year.

2}wind energy :
Wind energy is the another alternative for sustainable
environment.here turbines convet the kinetic energy of the
wind into potential energy .Unlike sun wind is available to us
24 hours .thus we can generate energy at night time also.
US generate wind energy equivalent to 40 coal plants per
year

3} Reduce Reuse Recycle:

THESE RENEWABLE RESOURCES ARE NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE THE ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABLE

.The three R's - reduce, reuse and recycle - all help to cut down on the amount of waste we throw away. They conserve natural resources, landfill space and
energy.

Plus, the three R's save land and money communities must use to dispose of waste in landfills. Everyone can help meet this goal and save natural resources,
energy, and money by following the three R's.

REDUCE
The best way to manage waste is to not produce it. This can be done by shopping carefully and being aware of a few guidelines:

Buy products in bulk. Larger, economy-size products or ones in concentrated form use less packaging and usually cost less per ounce.

******Avoid over-packaged goods, especially ones packed with several materials such as foil, paper, and plastic. They are difficult to recycle, plus you
pay more for the package.

*****Avoid disposable goods, such as paper plates, cups, napkins, razors, and lighters. Throwaways contribute to the problem, and cost more
because they must be replaced again and again.

Buy durable goods - ones that are well-built or that carry good warranties. They will last longer, save money in the long run and save landfill space.

Use electronic mail or main bulletin board.

Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins.

Use a dish cloth instead of paper towels.

REUSE
It makes economic and environmental sense to reuse products. Sometimes it takes creativity:

Reuse products for the same purpose. Save paper and plastic bags, and repair broken appliances, furniture and toys.

Reuse products in different ways. Use a coffee can to pack a lunch; use plastic microwave dinner trays as picnic dishes.

Sell old clothes, appliances, toys, and furniture in garage sales or ads, or donate them to charities.

*****Use resealable containers rather than plastic wrap.

****Use a ceramic coffee mug instead of paper cups.

*****Reuse grocery bags or bring your own cloth bags to the store. Do not take a bag from the store unless you need one.

RECYCLE
Recycling is a series of steps that takes a used material and processes, remanufactures, and sells it as a new product. Begin recycling
at home and at work:

***Buy products made from recycled material. Look for the recycling symbol or ask store managers or salesmen. The recycling symbol means one of
two things - either the product is made of recycled material, or the item can be recycled. For instance, many plastic containers have a recycling
symbol with a numbered code the identifies what type of plastic resin it is made from. However, just because the container has this code does not
mean it can be easily recycled locally.

Check collection centers and curbside pickup services to see what they accept, and begin collecting those materials. These can include metal cans,
newspapers, paper products, glass, plastics and oil.

Consider purchasing recycled materials at work when purchasing material for office supply, office equipment or manufacturing.

Speak to store managers and ask for products and packaging that help cut down on waste, such as recycled products and products that are not over
packaged.

Buy products made from material that is collected for recycling in your community.

NOW WE HAVE DISCUSS HERE WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE ENVIRONMENT , WHY IT IS IMPORTANCE AND HOW TO MAKE ENVIRONMENT SUSTAINABLE.

MILLIONS OF ANIMALS ARE DYING DUE TO COMSUMPTION OF PLASTIC ,CONTAIMINATED WATER AND POLLUTED AIR. *****TONS AND TONS OF
GARBAGE INCLUDING PLASTIC IS DUMPPED IN OCEAN EVERY SECOND**** .FACTORIES ARE RELEASING THERE HARMFULL,TOXIC WASTE IN THE
NATURE AND ARE DEGRADING IT.DUE TO INDUSTRIALIZATION AND URBANIZATION THERE IS INCREASE IN NO. OF VEHICLES WHICH INTURN ARE
CONTRIBUTING GREEN HOUSE GASES . DUE TO INCREASE IN HUMAN POPULATION LOTS OF FOREST LAND IS USED BY UD FOR LIVING . WE ARE ONLY
USING USING USING AND ONLY USING ALLTHE NON RENEWABLE RESOURCES .LOT AND LOTS OF PLANT AND ANIMAK SPECIES ARE NEAR TO
EXTINCTION.THE 500 MILLION YEAR OLD GREAT BARRIER REEF IS NOEW NEAR TO EXTINCT DUE TO RISE IN WATER TEMPERATURE.

Now i am ending up my elocution here .NATURE IS FOR HUMANS NEED NOT FOR
HIS GREED
