1)In terms of knowing oneself, how does the personality influenced by nature and

nurture? Explain in your own words?Explain in your own words.


Personality influenced by nature and nurture, Because Nature in itself makes you realize,
you are a very small part of a world. When you look around almost anywhere in the
world and realize everything from a beautiful flower to the sun coming up to looking at
the ocean, it makes you feel good about being alive and being a part of this world. As far
as nurture , sense the environment and nature makes you feel a certain way you like or
enjoy , you want to pass that on to your children and they pass it on to their children to be
part of this world and enjoy life and it's incredible Journey.
2)Why did Costa and McRae in the year 1992 developed the Big Five - Factor Model as
personality theory? Explain briefly.
Because this model was developed independently by different theorists, the names of
each of the five factorsand what each factor measuresdiffer according to which
theorist is referencing it. Paul Costa's and Robert McCrae's version, however, is the most
well-known today and the one called to mind by most psychologists when discussing the
five factor model. The acronym OCEAN is often used to recall Costa's and McCrae's five
factors, or the Big Five personality traits: Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness,
Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Neuroticism.
3) What are the 5 dimensions of Big Five Theory? Define and site an example on each
dimension.
Extraversion ischaracterized by excitability, sociability, talkativeness, assertiveness and
high amounts of emotional expressiveness.People who are high in extroversion are
outgoing and tend to gain energy in social situations. People who are low in extroversion
(or introverted) tend to be more reserved and have to expend energy in social
settings.Agreeableness This personality dimension includes attributes such as trust,
altruism, kindness, affection and other prosocial behaviors.Conscientiousness Standard
features of this dimension include high levels of thoughtfulness, with good impulse
control and goal-directed behaviors. Those high on conscientiousness tend to be
organized and mindful of details.Neuroticism is a trait characterized by sadness,
moodiness, and emotional instability. Individuals who are high in this trait tend to
experience mood swings, anxiety, moodiness, irritability and sadness. Those low in this
trait tend to be more stable and emotionally resilient.. Openness This trait features
characteristics such as imagination and insight, and those high in this trait also tend to
have a broad range of interests. People who are high in this trait tend to be more
adventurous and creative. People low in this trait are often much more traditional and
may struggle with abstract thinking.
4)What are the personal effectiveness that lead to growth of ones being? The most
effective that lead growth of ones being is self-awareness, self-knowledge, identity/selfesteem,strengths.
