The information in this bulletin is a snapshot of weekly activities in
our church and community. It showcases new events that may not be
present in our monthly newsletter. The Weekly News is also posted
on our website: www.esumc.net along with other news and events.
If you want your activity to be included, please make your

Welcome Visitors!
If this is your first time worshiping with us, we welcome
you. As a church we are committed to Love Jesus Christ
and to Share His Love. We offer three services: 8:30 and
11 a.m. are traditional, and 9:45 a.m. is contemporary.
~ Our Welcome Center is located in Oberholtzer Hall, the room next
to the sanctuary. Brochures on all our ministries are available there.
~ Our Holy Grounds Caf is a place for light refreshments and coffee
from 8:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. each Sunday in our Fellowship Hall. The
caf provides worshipers with an informal opportunity for fellowship.
~ Our Infant and Toddler Nurseries are available every Sunday from
8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. They are located on the lower level of the church
and are staffed with our full-time, professional attendants and parent
volunteers.
~ Childrens Church for ages four through third grade is offered at the
11 a.m. service and is guided by a parent volunteer. Children will be
dismissed after the Childrens Message. Please pick up your children
in the lower level of the church following worship.
Ministry
Opportunities for Congregational Care and Service to the Church
Jesus said, "take care of my sheep." John 21:16b
Prayer: O Lord Jesus, when you looked out at the crowds
of people, you had compassion on them because they were harassed and
helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. You prayed to your Father to
send laborers out into the field. Guide us now as we look for people
willing to train and serve as Stephen Ministers. Help those with the gifts
for this ministry to hear your calling and step forward so that we may
reach out with compassion to the harassed and helpless among us. In
your name and by the power of your Spirit, we pray. Amen.
Beginning September 8, an in-depth training course will be offered
for members who desire to become involved in this life changing
ministry. Stephen Ministry Sunday is July 18, and a weekly emphasis
will continue each Sunday through the month of August. For more
information contact Peggy Strack at the church office at 570-421-3280.
New Support Groups at Pocono Medical Center. An Alzheimer's
support group will meet the third Tuesday of every month from 5-6 p.m.
An amputee support group will meet the second Saturday of each month
from 2-3 p.m. For information, see the fliers on the Congregational
Care Bulletin Board in Oberholtzer Hall.
A Free Hospital Bed, in like-new condition, is available for anyone in
need. If interested, call Nancy, 420-9007.
If You Took a Casserole to the Coogan family during the last few
months, please contact Peggy to claim your dishes: 421-3280, ext. 23.
Lawn Mower Safety - A tip sheet compiled by five medical/surgical
academies offers tips for preventing injuries associated with lawn
mowers. Tips will be shared for the next few weeks. Tip #1: Children
younger than 12 should not operate any type of lawn mower. The
minimum age for using a riding mower should be 16.

How to Ring Chimes and Bells - Classes teaching basic in riging and
reading music will begin Sunday August 8,15 & 22 from 9 - 9:40 a.m.
in the Bell Room. Adults, teens and children in at least 3rd grade.
Previous music experience is helpful but not necessary. Please contact

Sacred Sing-Along is Sunday, July 18 at 3 p.m., our 2nd event Organ
Concert Series, featuring ensembles in various styles led by John Brush,
Pauline Fox and Doug Malefyt. Guests will be Bob Mallalieu and Norm
Williams playing mountain and Celtic hymns on dulcimers. A picnic
style social sponsored by UMW will follow the program. The program
is free and open to the public.
Missions
Opportunities for Service and Outreach to Our Community and World
Food Bank Sunday- Food collected today will be shared among our
Soup Kitchen, The Salvation Army, and Follow Me Foundation. Please
place your donations in the Food Bank Box in Oberholtzer Hall.
Specific items needed: Canned tuna, chicken, meats, fruits, vegetables,
ravioli, spaghetti & meatballs, hearty soups, boxed pasta, pasta sauce,
cereal, mayonnaise, peanut butter and jelly. Soup Kitchen Item of the
Month is Boxed Cereal.
Our Next Soup Kitchen is Monday, July 5 (Fourth of July) led by
Mike Ragonese. Help is needed with this kitchen, if you would like to
help with cooking or serving the meal please, call Nancy Gargone at
421-1456.

If you have a prayer request, please list it either on the prayer sheet in the rear
of the sanctuary or on the back of the friendship pad, making sure to include
your name on the request. This aids us in updating weekly requests.
Confidentiality is very important, we want to honor each person's right to

Childrens Ministry Nursery - Sixth Grade
News From The Nursery: Today is Megan Bledsoes last Sunday
with us. Please go by the nursery and give her a big hug and a thank
you for her two years of dedicated service. We wish Gods blessing
on Megan as she starts a new chapter in her life.
VBS Staff Orientation is Saturday, July 17 at 10 a.m. Plan to attend
and check out SonQuest Rainforest and as always, there's a free gift
to the first 10 people thru the door!
Sunday School News! Today is our end of year Celebration! Next
Sunday, classes will be combined for the summer with kindergarten
through second grades in classroom 1 and fourth through sixth grades
in classroom 2. Pre-K children will attend the nursery. Substitute
teachers are needed, sign up sheets are on the outside of the
classrooms. Curriculum is available during the week in the office.
New Ministry! *Praise Dance for Youth* (ages 9 and up) has
started and meets every Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship
Hall through the summer. Class begins with prayer and devotion,
followed by instruction set to Christian music. The dance class is part
instruction, and part creativity - allowing the dancers to choreograph
their own praise dance as an expression of their own faith and is
taught by Tara Aniano, a PE teacher, and a dancer herself. Dancers
should wear loose-fitting clothing: t-shirts with sleeves; shorts,
leggings, or pants at knee length or longer. For information, contact

Youth Ministry - 7th - 12th Grades
Youth Sunday School Classes for all youth in 7th - 12th grades meet
weekly at 11 a.m. in the Youth Room.
No Sunday Night Youth Program due to Fathers Day.
District Youth Event is Sunday, June 27 at Asbury UMC. The event
includes a worship concert, dinner and games. We will leave the
church parking lot at 4:25 p.m. and return at 8:45 p.m. All youth
attending with need a permission slip. (This event replaces Sunday
Night Youth Group at the church)

2010 Sr. High Mission Mississippi Trip for students who
completed 8th -12th grades is Friday, July 23 Sunday, August 1
Two Tickets Left for Creation 2010 June 30- July 4. The total
cost for the trip is $130 per person.

loan their cooler(s) for Creation June 30 - July 4.
Sr. High Retreat Planning - The leadership development team will
be planning the Sr. High Retreat to Ocean City Tuesday, June 22 at
the Church. If any youth would like to be a part of this process or
give input, please contact Scott.
