Leadership Characteristics

Biblical Insight

According to Daniel 6:3,4, why did Daniels enemies want

to find fault with him? Why were Daniels enemies unable to
criticize his leadership? Daniel had distinguished himself in
two very important ways. First, Daniel was a man of exceptional qualities. His leadership skills were of the highest caliber and were well known to the king. The unfortunate thing
about this situation is that the other leaders felt threatened by
Daniels skills. Instead of embracing his abilities and taking
the opportunity to learn from him, they became jealous of
Daniel and his skills.
The second way in which Daniel distinguished himself had to do with his character,
principles, and integrity as a person. The king
trusted his judgment, his honesty, and his ability to lead. Again, the unfortunate part of this
story is the inability of the other men to see

A: The other prophets told Ahab what he wanted to hear. Micaiah knew that was not the truth,
but he also knew King Ahab would punish him for an unfavorable prophecy.
C: The overseer must be above reproach, husband of one wife, temperate, self-controlled,
respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to wine, gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover
of money. He should manage his own family well and have obedient, respectful children.
He must not be a recent convert and must have a good reputation with outsiders. Deacons
are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in wine, not pursuing dishonest gain,
holding deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience, tested, the husband of one wife,
managing children and household well.
