OBJECTIVE: Research and analyze a theme represented in the novel Of Mice and Men and explore it
in a research paper.
DIRECTIONS: Research and gather information on one of the below topics. Be sure to take notes and
organize your thoughts clearly then format your research paper using MLA Format. Please refer to the
handout. As for your paper, it must have an introduction, (At least three body paragraphs) three body
paragraphs, and a conclusion. Eight transitions/ transitional phrases* are also required and should be in
bold. Please refer to the handout. Your thesis statement must be underlined**. Please include your
parallel blueprint. Proofread and edit your work and take advantage of www.grammarly.com/edu.
Furthermore, your paper must include five parenthetical citations and highlight them in your paper. Plus,
a Works Cited page that is properly formatted using MLA guidelines and accurately reflects the citations
is needed in the paper. You must have at least three citations on the Works Cited page plus the novel.
(You may use information from the web Quest, and at least ONE source found in the library. Finally,
once the paper is completed, you will submit it to me by Friday, December 9th.
