List any ISTE-S standards that seem to naturally align with the selected resource.
1b. Create original works as a means of personal or group expression
2a. Interact, collaborate, and publish with peers, experts, or others employing a variety of digital

formats

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Educreations is an iPad app that allows the user to create a presentation. It allows you to write and
speak, and you can add pictures to help with your lesson. You can add multiple pages, and you can set
these pages up beforehand or while recording the presentation. After creating the presentation, you can
share it via email, twitter, or with the link.

INTEGRATION/IMPLEMENTATION IDEA - SCREENCASTING

How might you use this resource to promote student learning? Describe who will be doing the
screencasting you or your students, and what purpose it will serve.
If I am doing the screencasting, I can create short presentations that go over key examples that align
with our standards. Students can view these presentations before class in a flipped learning situation.
These presentations could also be viewed by students who need some extra help with the material or by
students who were absent during a lesson.
If my students are doing the screencasting, they can create presentations to show their knowledge of
the material. After creating these presentations, the students can share their creations with the rest of
the class so everyone can use them as a resource for when they need extra help or practice. The
Educreations app allows students to show their work on any given math problem, but it also has other
important uses. If, for example, students are doing a presentation on finding geometry in architecture or
identifying the ellipses in whisper spots, they may put real pictures of buildings in the presentation and
draw on the pictures to show the math/geometry that is present but possibly difficult to see.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION

Given the information above, how would the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource? (On the Value-Added Rating Scale above)
Explain your rating based on the indicators on the rubric.
I would rate the technology integration as a 2 or 2.5 on the Value-Added Rating Scale.
Educreations aligns to content standards and enhances the lesson because it allows the students
to be in charge of their own learning and to help other students with gaps in their knowledge. In
addition, this tool can be used directly by the students, which will make them more active
participants in their learning. I do not think that Educreations necessarily transforms the lesson in
a way that would be impossible or difficult without it, however I do think that with the example
involving finding geometry in architecture, it would be much easier to highlight the presence of
geometry with this app because of the ability to draw on top of the pictures.
