Describe the instructional activities that will occur prior to the SRS activity and how you will
introduce the SRS activity: This activity will be used as a station for the social studies/national holidays
lesson. We would have already talked about all the national holidays listed before the station started so the
students wont feel pressure taking a quiz over content they dont fully know yet.

SRS activity will be anonymous
Briefly describe what will happen during the SRS activity (For example: What will students do? What
will the teacher do? What materials are needed? How long will the SRS activity take?): Depending on how
many computers and/or tablets I have available in my classroom, I will put 3-5 students at the
computer/tablet station, depending on my time needed for each station, I will either have them watch a
short video about the national holidays or a BrainPop activity and then have them go to Socrative and take
the quiz I made.

Provide samples of questions/prompts to be given to students: (1) People celebrate this holiday on
December 25th by decorating a tree, hanging stockings, and waiting for Santa to arrive.
(2) This holiday is celebrated on the 4th of July. We celebrate with lots of fireworks. People wear red, white
and blue on this day. It was the day the United States became a free country.

Right/Wrong Answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
Mixed (Some will have correct answers, others will not.)

Yes

No

Immediate corrective feedback:

Will you pre-select correct answers to some or all of the questions and display correct response to the class
after the SRS activity?
Yes
No
Why or why not? I will because I want to make sure the students know why they got the answers they did
wrong, and what the correct answer is for that question.
Use of data: What data will be collected as a result of this activity? How will it be used and by whom?
(For example: Will information collected from this activity be used to award a grade? Will the individual
information collected be shared with students and/or parents to help them monitor individual progress?
Will you discuss the aggregate, anonymous data with the whole class to help them learn? Will you use data
to differentiate instruction for students, if so describe how.) This information gathered will be used for
understanding if my students know the national holidays for a test later on in the quarter or for the end of
the year exam. I would keep the test results for each student in their own folder that will be in my
possession and will give them it at the end of the year or the end of that section of social studies.
Describe what will occur after the SRS activity: The students will then rotate to the next station and the
next group of students will do the SRS activity until the social studies lesson
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity. (For example: What are you trying that you have
not tried before? What do you hope to learn from this activity? How do you hope it will help students learn?
You must design something that will help you learn something new. Honor system!) : Using Socrative is
new for me instead of creating my own quiz on paper, this is a fun a more interactive way to take a quiz. I
would hope that the students would learn to distinguish which national holidays are which and to grow and
learn from their mistakes if they made any while taking the quiz.
