PerformanceswillrunFriday,May27throughSunday,May29attheCobbEnergy
PerformingArtsCentre.TheMcFallBalletfirstdebutedtheMAYhemprogramatthe
closeofits201314season.ThefirstMAYhemfeaturedthreeworldpremieresbythe
companysfounderandartisticdirector,JohnMcFall,residentchoreographer,Elise
BlevinsandguestchoreographerHelenPickett.
ThisyearsMAYhemwillfeaturethreeAtlantapremieres:SanFranciscoBallets

featureschallengingchoreographybasedoffRussianballetprinciples.AfterClassical
SymphonywasperformedattheLincolnCenterforPerformingArtsinNewYork,The
NewYorkTimesdescribedClassicalSymphonyasanexhilaratingbutbeautiful
performancedisplayingthetrueathleticismandskillofdancers.
JohnHeginbothamsAngelsShareisnotonlyanAtlantapremierebutalsoa
worldpremiere.Heginbotham,NewYorkCityBalletchoreographerandperformer,
graduatedfromTheJulliardSchoolin1993andsincecraftedanumberofpiecesfor

dancecompaniesaroundtheworld.HeginbothamcreatedAngelsSharespecifically
forTheMcFallBalletsMAYhem.TheperformancewillshowcaseHeginbothams
uniquechoreographicvisionwithlivemusicbytheAtlantaSymphonyOrchestra.
ThethirdandfinalMAYhempiece,CactibyAlexanderEkman,isahumorous
andenergeticpiecefamousforentertainingaudiences.OriginallyfromSweden,Ekman
isafreelancechoreographerwhohasworkedwithanumberofdancecompaniesaround
theworldincludingJoffreyBallet,BostonBallet,LesBalletsdeMonteCarlos,and
SydneyBallet.Eckmanisknownforhisabilitytoreachaudienceswithrelatablestories
behindhischoreography.
