Dear Mr Sam,
I refer to your letter of 15 April 2016 regarding the delay of an order
for 50 widgets.
I am writing to you to apologise for not being able to attend your
order on time.
We phoned our shipping agent to see which has been the problem of
this delay, and as a result of our research, we found that, apparently,
the problem was that there was a strike in the transport sector and he
has not been able to meet orders on schedule.
Our transporter assures that, for the purpose of remedying all the
inconvenience it may have caused, he has rescheduled his target
shipping dates and he assures us that the order will be at its
destination in a couple of days. We would appreciate, if otherwise,
you contact us as soon as possible.
We understand how disappointing it can be when your expectations
are not met and to show our goodwill, we would like to offer you a 5%
discount on your next order with us.
We very much hope you will consider our sincere apologises and we
look forward to receiving your further orders, and I assure you that
they will be filled promptly.
