Democracy: (from the Greek demos, the people; kratein, to rule) a political

system in which the people of a country rule through any form of government
they choose to establish

Democracy is the best way to meet the diverse needs of the people
People make decisions that reflect the will of the majority
True democratic citizens not only enjoy their rights and freedoms, but they
also take very seriously the responsibilities of living democratically
Open communication and mass participation are also important
responsibilities of the democratic citizen
The democratic citizen upholds
Human dignity
Respects the rights
Works for the common good
Has a sense of responsibility for other people

Rule of Law:
Political Equality: Everyone in the political environment is treated the same
way, that means everyone has the same status under the law.
Common Good: The benefits or interest of all
Personal Freedom: refers to the freedom of the person that going in and coming
equality before courts, security of theri private property, freedom of opinion and
its expression.
Human Dignity: an individual or group feels self-respect and self worth, human
dignity is harmed by unfair treatment based upon personal traits or
circumstances which do not relate to individual needs, capacities, or merits.
Political Freedom: refers to the freedom of expressing and comment on
political subjects rather than the private conduct of an individual.
Being Informed and getting involved: being aware of whats going on around
you and taking action.
Respect: feeling of deep admiration for something or someone because of their
qualities, abilities, or achievements.
