Introduction:
In readymade garments industry, fabrics are joined by using two methods for making the
garments where one is sewing method and another is alternative method. Both methods
contain some features which shown in this article by using table.

Fabric joining method followed in apparel industry

Sewing Method:
It is the most used sewing method in garments manufacturing industry. Sewing method is
done by usingneedle and thread. One of the important advantage of this method is
that, fabrics can be sewn again by opening defective stitch.

Sewing method

Alternative Method:
This method is not used as sewing method. Here, fabrics are joined by using adhesive, fusion
glueing, stapling and moulding. Here, fabrics cannot be joined again by opening defective
stitch.

Introduction:
Chain stitch is one of the most used stitches in garments. There are so many who still dont
know thestitch formation technique of chain stitch. As a person from the readymade
garments industry, everybody should know about it. As its importance, this article has shown
an easy explanation for the principle of chain stitch formation technique.
Chain Stitch:
Chain stitch is made by using one or more group of sewing threads. The stitch which is formed
by using two or more groups of sewing thread is called multi thread chain stitch. Here, the loop

of one group sewing threads is bounded by interloping with the loop of another group of sewing
threads. Stitch type-401 is called multi thread chain stitch and following are the steps referred
as the principle of stitch type-401 formation.

Chain stitch formation technique

Chain Stitch Formation Technique Followed in Apparel Industry:

Chain stitch is produced by following the below steps.
Step-01:
1.
Needle is entered through the fabric with the sewing thread and reaches into its lower
position.
2.
Needle contains the old loop around its blade.
3.
A new loop is formed when needle moves upward a little.
Step-02:
1.
New loop is caught by the looper (above the needle eye below the old loop).
2.
Needle moves upward.

3.

The old loop is cast off from the needle blade and slides on base of the new loop that is
still held by the looper.
4.
Interlacement is occurred under the fabric (between the new loop and old loop).
5.
In the same time, fabric is also moved one stitch forward due to the feed dog
mechanism.
Step-03:
1.
The looper enlarges the new loop.
2.
So that when needle again entered through the fabric, it passes through the loop.
3.
The looper leaves the loop which is held on the needle blade.
4.
This loop now becomes the old loop.

Introduction:
It is world wide certified that, RMG sector of Bangladesh can produce higher quality product with
lower price than other garments manufacturing countries. As a result Bangladesh has
achieved a vast place in the worlds garments/apparel market, which is only possible due to the
significant contribution ofgarments buying house.
Buying House:
A buying house is a media between buyer and manufacturer. It can be a buying agency or a
buying office. Both term contains different meanings. Buying agency is an independent buyers
regional office, from where all kinds of necessary approval has given. On the other hand, buying
office is that, which works at a time with different buyers and brands. In this case, all the
required approvals are comes from the buyer, not from buying house.

A typical garment buying house

Role of Buying House in Garments Business:

In normal sence, buying house is the combination of all marketing activities, which is not only related
with searching foreign garment buyers, order collecting media for the manufacurers but also placing
order to local garments manufacturing factories and providing all the necessary support to the
buyers and manufacturers.
Buying house plays an important role for garments manufacturing sector of Bangladesh. As
garments sector is totally related with foreign buyers, but foreign buyers are too much dependent on
garments buying house. Because they have no enough idea to place order and execution here,
where as buying house provides them strong support by supplying garments products according to
their demands. Foreign buyers are totally bounded with buying house. As a result, new buying
houses are increasing day by day, which was too difficult to find out reliable garments buying house
in the past 3-4years ago.
In another point of view its seen that, garments manufacturers also totally dependent on buying
house, because they have to collect order from them. Also exporting garment product involves so
many stages from marketing to distribution, which is not possible by any single group to do alone.
Normally a buying house has to do the following functions:
1.
Order collection from the buyer,
2.
Finding good suppliers (local factory) to complete the order,

3.
Order processing from local factories,
4.
Making product development samples for buyers,
5.
Contacting with buyers for necessary approvals,
6.
Forwarding all the comments and approvals to the factories,
7.
Follow-up order processing according to buyers demand,
8.
Maintain desired product quality from sample to production,
9.
Should follow inspection terms and conditions according to buyers demand,
10. Shipping the goods.
Buying house works not only with the reputed factories, it also helps to small factories. At present, a
lot of small factories are growing, whose have no specified buyer. Buying house provides them
sound opportunity by providing garments order if they have capability to complete an order by
maintaining buyers demand. As a result, new entrepreneurs are willingly come to invest in garments
sector by opening garments factory, which is too good for the nations specially for the garments
business.
From here, we can say that, the relationship between manufacturers and buying house are
interdependent. The existence of one without others is hardly possible. As a result, distance between
buyer and manufacturer is reduced by buying house.
Just imagine, if theres no garments buying house in Bangladesh, what happened in our large
garments sector. Whole garments business are fall down. Factories cant find any garments order,
also foreign buyers cant place any order here directly.
RMG sector of Bangladesh has a new slogan: $50 billion by 2021. Its not a dream vision for us.
We have enough ability to touch this goal. We are hopping to reach $50bn in exports by 2021, the
50th anniversary of the Republic of Bangladesh. To achieve this milestone buying house will play a
significant role by collecting a lot of orders from the worlds top garments buyers.
By the above ways, garments buying house plays an important role to perform marketing and
distribution task of garment business.
New entrepreneurs ar highly invited at our garments sector, so that we can take this sector at its best
position in the worlds ready made garments market.
