United States War with ISIS
ISIS emerged to the spot light in 2010 when the group begun to take over unprotected areas of
the Middle East. This was due to United States troop withdraw, by 2011 the United States had
drawn out a majority of our troops. Its no surprise what ISIS is doing, they are a group that is
formed and branded off of Al-Qaeda, and thus similar actions occur. The group is known for
committing outrageous acts of violence from beheadings to the raidings of villages. They have
been accounted to threats of the safety of the United States, and other countries. ISIS as a whole
is trying to conquer everything they can from land to political power, they harm anyone they can
that does not agree. The group has neglected offers of peace and also created a genocide to force
others to join. Baghdadi, a leader of the group, does not respond to questions incurring anything
other than the fact that they are purely religious based. The United States should be worried
about ISIS because they have access the most of the worlds Uranium and the fact that terrorism
can very easily be spread worldwide. The United States should launch a program on the
elimination of ISIS in the Middle East to help national security, Middle Eastern economy, and
they safety of civilians.
To launch a war on terrorism again the United States would have to accomplish the
following. Terrorism has been a reigning threat to the United States since the mid 20th century.
Now as soon as the United States feels as it has everything under control a new group has
emerged to the scene, that group being known as ISIS. The group has been reluctantly known to
pick up where the Taliban and Al-Qaeda left off. Now that leads us to what the United States

Pilkington 2

would have to do in order to launch a war on the terror group known as ISIS. The steps the
United States would have to do to start a war begin with Congress, they have the power to
declare war if needed. But the President of the United States also serves as the Commander and
Chief and is able to declare war without consulting congress. If he fells the United States is in
danger. ISIS has already clearly provoked themselves as not only a threat to the United States but
the entire world. One of the great challenges ISIS poses is that it currently controls thousands of
square miles of ungoverned territory; and it is recruiting highly motivated fighters from all over
the world. This influx of fighters, along with the open space needed by ISIS commanders to
formally train them, offers the group an ability to creatively think up and effectively carry out
major attacks, including against the United States (Gottlieb). Providing even more credible
evidence that a war on ISIS should be consider as a step forward for United States safety.
United States can defeat ISIS by strategizing the same style tactics they used to attack the
Taliban. It is well known that ISIS is using unique tactics to harm others and gain control of land.
To successfully control the spread of ISIS the United States would need to limit the imports
going to ISIS while maintaining a healthy relationship with surrounding communities to make
sure civilians stay as safe as possible, regarding the conditions they already have to live in. ISIS
is only as powerful as the civilians allow them to be, the live off the pure pressure they use on
citizens to gain the goods and products. If the United States can control what goes in and out,
there is a stellar chance ISIS would fall. First, we need to win militarily in Iraq, cutting off the
financial fuel that flows from enslaved and taxed populations in Mosul, Fallujah and other parts
of Iraq. This must be done with a three-axis strategy: tactical bombing at high level from aircraft
carriers in the Gulf and Mediterranean, Kurdish peshmerga armed and trained by a U.S.-led
coalition, and Iraqi security forces stiffened by a NATO training mission. That combination

should be able to drive ISIS out of Iraq in six to 12 months (Stavirids). The United States
would also need to consider the methods used on the Taliban and alter it accordingly to what is
needed. In which would ultimately be proven for the safe route the United States to take. But
ISIS is its own certain animal, and the United States does not only need to control ISIS for their
own safety, but for the protection of Western civilizations.
The removal of ISIS would benefit the Middle Eastern economy by providing safety and
freedom. Its a well-known fact that ISIS has taken control of the Middle Eastern economy by
controlling a majority of the land and corrupt government. If the United States can control the
safety of the land major economy strives would be accomplished. The Middle East has some of
the worlds last oil reserves. Not only could this lead to major jobs in the oil industry, but Middle
Eastern oil reserves could lead to a kick off of a more efficient world trading habits. A secure and
safe Middle Eastern economy, would leady to a considerably amount of jobs in the Middle East.
Sample of 730 employees of banks and financial institutions were selected as a sample. Our
findings revealed that the media aggression, terrorism, and economic stress have positive
association with stress jobs (Hussain). Oil isnt the only thing the Middle East provides, they
also are on top of the worlds largest opium supply. Opium is not only widely found in the
Middle East, it actually can be used for medical purposes. At this time ISIS has pretty much
secured opium for being in trade markets thus restraining the creation of tons of jobs, from the
mining to the medical practices. The job opportunity in the Middle East is unquestionably large,
but ISIS has reigning control of the job market. Which just gives the United States another
reason to peruse the elimination of ISIS.
The sculpture of terrorism can be deliquesced if the safety thrives, helping accomplish
jobs, schools, and homes for the Middle East. ISIS is the textbook reason for a unsuccessful

Pilkington 4

economy and living standard in countrys such as Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan. ISIS merely emerged
in 2010 and now have conquered as much land as the Taliban had in the early 2000s. Now that
ISIS is gaining control and power they have moved onto new areas such as Syria. This such
action should haunt the USA, with the spread of terrorism the haunting the back bone of
American safety. A war on terrorism would provide safety for the Middle Eastern civilians that
have so heavily relied on support of the United States roughly since the 2000s.
Fighting ISIS isnt going to be an easy task, the United States will have to adapt methods
in order to defeat the reigning power of mass destruction. The main reason the United States has
not proceeded forward with war is because President Obama our Commander and Chief has
decided to withhold from deploying troops, because he believes it is whats right for the United
States now. Obama has repeatedly stressed that any air strikes would be "limited" and that
America will not be sending troops. As commander in chief, I will not allow the United States
to be dragged into another war in Iraq, he said. He's not aiming to wipe out all IS militants in
Iraq, but instead to secure Kurdistan, a region of key military interest for the US.(BorkettJones). Now with Donald Trump being the new President elect and also to be considered a man
that supports guns, war, and making money in any way possible, we could soon see a shift
forward in the elimination of ISIS. Now President Obama is still not to be blamed, the United
States is making wayward process of sending missiles to detain ISIS. Now that times are
changing and ISIS is becoming a larger threat maybe our Commander and Chief, wither that be
Donald Trump or Barack Obama, needs to reevaluate the situation.
Ending the reign of ISIS could possibly lead to an end of terrorism in the Middle East for
a long time. The United States has been successful in discounting terrorism for a long time now,
but theyve always had one flow, that being reformation. There are multiple accounts of the

Pilkington 5

United States Military going and deform terrorism and then brining every one home. The results
over the past 40 years have proven that the group will just reform. This is where the United
States needs to take a new approach. We already know how to defeat ISIS, we have the most
technological Military in the World, not to mention all of our allies. But the United States needs
to consider a new approach after they discontinue ISIS. We should introduce the idea of staying
in a country and making sure the economy comes back to a stable position before pulling out. If
the government and citizens have control the opportunity for success would be as far as the eye
can see.
It has been proven time and time again that the United States has the capability to secure
a nation. With ISIS rising tensions and the fear of a world epidemic, most feel as if the United
States is almost responsible to make sure the Middle East stays safe. Modern warfare
technologically outdates ISIS but they still find a way to be at the top. But the United States
should launch a continuing program to guarantee the safety for Middle Eastern cities for years to
come. That way we dont have to worry about future threats.
