You are provided with the scores of all the students enrolled in MIS 105 Section 12.
Your task is to calculate and analyze their grades.

1. Marks distribution is as follows


Quizzes: There are two quizzes;
Quiz 1: Taken out of 10 and is 5% of total score
Quiz 2: Taken out of 10 and is 10% of total score
Midterm 1: Taken out of 50 and then converted to 20% of the total score
(Total 20%)
Midterm 2: Taken out of 50 and then converted to 25% of the total score
(Total 25%)
Final Exam: Taken out of 50 and then converted to 35% of the total score
(Total 35%)

The table above contains the RAW scores of 10 Students


enrolled in MIS 105.
You will have to copy the scores (manually OR copy/paste,
whichever works for you) to begin working on the questions
The columns highlighted in YELLOW indicates some of the
information you need to find out (inside excel file, not here)
You can add columns, rows wherever necessary.
In this particular course, Quiz 1 and 2, Exam 1, Exam 2 and
Final are taken FIRST on the basis of RAW scores, and then
converted to a percentage of the total. For example, suppose a
student got 40 out of 50 in Exam 1 (Raw score), this score is
converted to percentage score like this: (40/50)*20.
Convert the scores to percentage of total before calculating
total scores. Omit the Raw scores from total score calculation,
by manually selecting cells in your formula.

Follow the grading scheme below to calculate grades based on


total score
A >=93, A- >= 90, B+ >= 87, B >= 83, B-> =80, C+ > = 77, C
>= 73, C- >= 70, D+>= 67, D >=67, F<60

Questions: Answer each of the questions below inside the excel file.
Number your answers properly.
1. Create a MS EXCEL file with the above information on students.
Name the file with your group number. (1 Point)
2. Convert the raw scores to their corresponding percentage
score (2 Points)
3. Calculate the total for all the students (2 Points)
4. Calculate the average, minimum and maximum scores (2
Points)
5. Draw a LINE Chart to show the score distribution of the 10
students (2 Points)
6. If the total score of a student is less than or equal to 70, using
excel formula, add two points to his/her total score (2 Points)
7. Using Excel Formula, Calculate and enter the grade each
student received (2 Points)
8. Calculate how many students got an A. (2 Points)

Format your excel file. Change Fonts, Increase/Decrease Size


to make you submission as presentable as possible.
Number your answers (where appropriate) very carefully. I
cannot give you marks if I cannot see your answers
Multiple groups should not have the same formatting. If two
such groups are found, both assignments will be cancelled.
EMAIL me the completed excel file (Only) with all the answers
in it. REMEMBER to save the file by the number of you group.
Include the names of your group members somewhere inside
the excel file.
