InSolidWorkspartandassemblyfiles,youmustselectaplanarfaceontowhichyoupastetheentitiesasasketch.

WhenyouinsertDXForDWGfilesintoSolidWorksdrawingdocuments,theSolidWorkssoftwareinsertsanewsketchonthecurrentsheet.WhenyouinsertDXForDWG
filesintoSolidWorkspartdocuments,theSolidWorkssoftwareinsertsanewsketch,andthesoftwarepromptsyoutoselectaplaneorfaceforthesketchifyouhavenot
selectedone.
Forexample,youcaninsertaDXFfileasasketchintoaSolidWorkspartdocument,thenusetheinsertedsketchtomodifythepart.

ToinsertaDXForDWGfileintoaSolidWorkspartdocument:

1.Selectafaceonthepart.
Thefileisinsertedasasketchontothefaceorplaneyouselect.
