Steps wise procedure to test VLAN tagged Ethernet

First of all need to know NW card from below process to run required software
/Driver for VLAN support in Laptop. Process to know NW Card of Laptop :---Go to My computer ( right click ) > manage > Device manager > Network
adapters
From here you can identify NW Card is of Broadcom/Intel/Realtek
For Broad com configured NW Card : Need to run required software /Driver and
follow below process : A. Go to start Menu > All Programme >Broad comm>Broad comm advance
control suite 4
B. Get it click and run
C. Select team view in filter options
D. Select unassigned adopters
E. Right click broad com net extreme go to create a VLAN option
F. Get click expert mode
G. Put any default name ( ABCD ) in team name
H. Put any default ( ABCD ) in name
I. Put tagged in type options.
J. Put Plan VLAN in ID .
K. Enter create and ok
L. Go to My network places > view network > a new local area connection will
be found in the same name as that have been created above in LAN ( say
ABCD in above case )
M. Go to Local area connection in LAN and right click ( ABCD ) >Properties >
internet protocol >Put IP , Mask as per plan > ok
N. Run > Type cmd and enter
O. Ping gateway IP followed by space and t
Case 01 : For Node B
Put cross/straight RJ45 cable at Btsol end and other end will be placed at
Laptop.
Need to put IP and subnet mask against all the planned four VLAN in the laptop
one by one and ping gate way IP. If all the four gateway IP ping response is ok
without any packet loss confirms testing is ok end to end. For no ping response
RTO ( Request time out ) will be found. All required IP and VLAN are provided in
3G node B data fill . Applicable for Colo/Cluster at GNE /Btsol location .
Case 02 : OSSoIP/GBoIP : All the above procedure will remain same.

* Note - Here only one VLAN and one corresponding set of IP and Mask is
provided corresponding to which 3 Gateway IP is to ping.
P. Go to the VLAN that have been created for a particular name in your laptop
and right click and delete team and do yes after successful media testing.
For Intel configured NW Card: Need to run required software /Driver and follow
below Process: --A. Go My comp ( right click ) > manage >device manager > network adopters
> Intel adopter ( double click ) VLANS > New> Put planned VLAN and ok.
B . A new local area connection 2 will formed in my network places.
C. In LAN ( right click Local area connection 2 ) >Properties > internet protocol
TCP IP 4 > Put IP , Mask as per plan > ok
D. Go to Run > Type cmd and enter
E. Ping gateway IP followed by space and t
Case 01 : For 3G sites
Place cross/straight RJ45 cable at Btsol end and other end will be placed at
Laptop.

F. Go to the window where VLAN have been created, get selected remove and
ok.
For Real tek configured NW Card : Need to run required software /Driver and follow

Go to Start Menu > All Progrmme > Accessories >Real Tek Pc GB trail
Click VLAN>Add>Put planned VLAN > ok >add
Go to Local area connection and put planned IP and Mask .
Go to Run > Type cmd and enter
Ping gateway IP followed by space and t
Case 01 : For 3G sites

ok.
